Google Responds to Celebrity Nude Photo Leak $100 Million Lawsuit - Read the Statement

Google has responded to the $100 million lawsuit they were slammed with earlier in regards to the celebrity nude photo leak.

The lawsuit said that Google was at fault for not removing the images of the naked women.

“We’ve removed tens of thousands of pictures, within hours of the requests being made, and we have closed hundreds of accounts,” a spokesperson for the company said in a statement today (via Deadline). “The Internet is used for many good things. Stealing people’s private photos is not one of them.

The Google statement also said that they rely on people to submit valid Digital Millennium Copyright Act content and claims for images that should not be allowed on the search engine.

Lawyer Marty Singer said that he sent Google over a dozen requests on behalf of unnamed celebrities to remove images before taking further action.

Why to sue Google? Google isn’t internet

  • andrea

Google is not at fault at all. These celebs and their lawyers just want to make easy money off of them.
And instead of shifting blame on Google, they should tell their stupid clients about the pros and cons of taking naked pics and sending it thru email.
And some of those celebs like Kim K probably leaked their own pics, so this suing Google makes no sense.

  • guest

Google is responsible for any images they allow on their search engine, period.

  • ….

These spoiled, self-centered celebs are so used to getting their way, so I back Google on this one. They just want someone to blame for this. They need to get over it and stop taking naked photos. ESPECIALLY YOU, J-LAW. She apparently had over 300 of them. How self-absorbed can you get.

  • go go

    Free Google!

  • Cate

So ridiculous. Why are they trying to shift the blame to Google.

  • andrea

@….: Exactly. They took the naked pics themselves so they are the ones at fault and sent it by email to their friends and boyfriends! Not Google or anyone else!
Some of these girls already have slutty images and personas. Ppl like J-law are angry cos her fans think she is a saint and said she would never do drugs, take dirty pics of herself, etc. She did all of those things.
I was accused of slut-shaming these girls but how is it slut shaming when they take these pics yet try to blame someone else for their faults? Its immaturity. None of them even owned up to it.

  • Alaia

They clearly didn’t do a good job. I typed in ‘Jennifer Lawrence’ leaked and didn’t really have to look far to see her nude pictures!

  • Bobby

Seriously…these sl*uts take naked pics and want the world to cry over them and have pity on them…LOL…you’re not showing us something we all haven’t seen before, it’s just a pair of t*tis and some as*s…get over yourselves there are serious problems in this world.

  • Haaaaaaaa

I agree with everybody, the ones most at fault are clearly the celebs! Pffft.

  • Sam

    @guest:

That’s crazy. That’s not even possible. They index the internet. Having everything they index reviewed is impossible. That’s like saying Nokia is responsible for every picture I take with my camera.

  • Rex

Singer isn’t JLaw attorney. it’s Stephen Warren. On the letter to Google, Marty Singer did not identify the female celebs he represents.

  • Max

@….: She was hackered for years. from her hair you can see that pica are dated 2011-2012 and in her leaks some guys added fake pics. They admitted. they ere trying to made money oof of gullible idiots

  • Elisa

this is so ridiculous !!!! if is there someone to blame here it would be: first the hacker who leaked the pictures , second apple for the bad security and third herself for taking naked pictures with your cell phone, but blaming google its stupid and it seems like a move just to make money

  • DERPY!!

Blaming Google is so ridiculous!!! These girls got more FREE publicity than they could have paid for. Leave it alone. They will all be fine.
