RHONJ's Teresa Giudice Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison
Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice hold hands while arriving at Newark Federal Court to await sentencing on a variety of financial fraud charges on Thursday morning (October 2) in Newark, N.J.
The couple from The Real Housewives of New Jersey pled guilty earlier this year to charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud for allegedly using fake pay stubs, tax returns, and W-2 forms to make their incomes look higher so they could obtain $5 million in mortgages and other loans.
Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Joe received a sentencing of 41 months in a federal prison and he must also pay back $414,588.90 in restitution. He also must enter an alcohol treatment program in prison.
The judge reportedly will stagger the sentences so that one parent can be with the couple’s four children – Gia, 13, Gabriella, 9, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5 – while the other is in prison. It is being said that Teresa will serve her sentence first.
