Gone Girl's Emily Ratajkowski Gets Defensive About Playing a Mistress

Emily Ratajkowski wears two chic black outfits while heading around town on Thursday (October 2) in New York City.

The 23-year-old model-turned-actress recently chatted with Los Angeles Confidential about her character in the movie Gone Girl, which is in theaters now.

“It’s funny. I get defensive when people say, ‘Oh, you play the mistress,’” Emily said. “In my mind, she’s just a girlfriend who really loves her boyfriend and has been taken advantage of and doesn’t realize that. Of course, she doesn’t understand the full situation, which really breaks her heart later in the story.”

FYI: Emily is wearing a Camilla and Marc jumpsuit.

  • Amy

LOL @ Ben wanting to do this movie.

This is just toooooo easy! No wonder we’re seeing jennifer everywhere sll of a sudden……

  • Jane

    To Nope

It takes two people to have an extramarital affair or are you now aware of that. The husband and mistress share equal blame.

  • Anna

She was by far the weakest link in this movie and clearly doesn’t understand her character very well… jfc.

  • Uh hu

If she ever gets married, I’d like to see her say the same about her husband’s “girfriend”.

  • Liz

All this hoe does is show off her cleavage. Every. Outfit. Has. Cleavage. And she calls her self a feminist? Feminist I know have morals and they didn’t go around telling everyone they can f@ck anyone they want.

  • Jake

Nice boobs, but she’s a butterface.

  • Dan

@Jane: I’d leave my wife for her. This girl’s got great tits. They look real.

  • Christina

Why does she never smile with her teeth?

  • RME

@Nope: Exactly my thought. She’s one of ‘those’ girls. The kinds that justify being with married or taken men and act like victims. Lets see how sympathetic she is when *her* husband has a “girlfriend” who “really loves her boyfriend”. Good Lord. What your men around her.

P.S. Thanks for giving away a SPOILER, a.s.s.hole for those of us who have yet to see the movie or read the book. Now I’ll be sure to be looking out for a mistress.

    **WATCH your men around her**

Are you guys all confused? She’s talking about her character not her personally. There is a difference you know. I mean, most people on this site can’t differentiate between fiction and reality, but come on, it’s not difficult to see she’s talking about her character’s motivations.

  • Just Saying…

@amanda: If that’s the case, then she should have clarified that. Homewrecking mistresses are a touchy subject amongst women. She could have “defended” her character, and then said ‘of course those aren’t *my* views, I don’t condemn that behavior…”. Her ‘insight’ into her characters POV made it seem like she was *personally* defending poor, na├»ve in love “girlfriends” of married men.

  • Just Saying…

@amanda: BTW, what do you mean most people on this site can’t differentiate between fiction and reality? I seldom see actors being confused for their characters. This site mainly has reality stars or other celebrities in the news for erratic, controversial antics to which people have every right to comment on since they are people figures who make an earning on airing their dirty laundry. Seems like to me *you’re* the one who’s confused and can’t tell the difference.

  • Just Saying…

Correction: “…PUBLIC figures who make an earning based on airing their dirty laundry…”

  • jeff

@Anna: what do your mean? She hit the nail on the head. I thought she did a wondefull job with such a bit part. Her character was just what she said she was. The girlfriend who didn’t get the full extent of what was going on.
