7th Heaven's Stephen Collins Admits to Molesting Young Girls (Audio)

7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins confessed to his estranged wife Faye Grant he was a child molester and it’s all on tape, TMZ reports.

The 67-year-old actor, who is in the middle of a prolonged divorce, revealed to her in 2012 he had molested and/or exposed himself to several underage girls years before and the New York Police Department is now conducting an active criminal investigation involving sexual contact with multiple children.

The official says there are “at least 3 victims” and the nature of the investigation is “inappropriate sexual contact with minors.”

One alleged victim in the investigation is the relative of Stephen‘s first wife, who we’re told first reported the molestation in 2012.

Disturbing. The showbiz industry is so corrupt. What a sad revelation. Those poor kids. I hope they can find the strength to move on with their lives.

  • .

He has a demon inside of him. demonic entities are real! look it up

  • .

they drugged him up so his body was weak enough to be accesible to demonic overtaking. they wanted to get him arrested and humiliated because he knew too much. hollywood is a sick industry. they always hated 7th heaven because the message was good. because he was a pastor they wanted him to suffer for it.

  • LoveTheShoes

t@Megan: Megan, the world is corrupt. As sad and sick as it is there’s nothing going on in HW that isn’t going on anywhere or everywhere and hasn’t been going on since the beginning of time just like King Solomon said in the old testament…….Ecclesiastes 1:9 “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

  • kelli

what? ok, i am super surprised given the show he was on – 7th heaven as the pastor?! :-(

  • urgh…

    @.: oh STFU

  • That show was always creepy

Well he’s an ACTOR, don’t be so shocked if he’s nothing like his characters because that’s sort of what acting is all about. That said, he’s a piece of cr*p and I hope he gets a tough sentence and looses all his money. Poor girls. People who do this kind of thing are cowards and I’m sure he’s done more than what he was willing to admit to his wife in those taped conversations. I hope the whole truth comes out so that he will get the punishment he deserves.

  • gross

    This is sick!
So very sad to hear of more child abuse.
I can’t post at tmz but the posters over there are jumping to conclusions saying the wife or therapist did nothing for two years but they don’t know that. Just because that part wasn’t made public- we don’t know what action was taken. Maybe the police investigation started earlier and tmz just now got the tapes. I agree the wife released these now for damage to him but we don’t know what else she did for two years prior.
One thing is for sure he is ruined and won’t work in HW again… and so be it.Creep.

@Megan: this isn’t about “showbiz”, most molestors are not in showbiz. You’re looking for something profound to say and failed.

  • Ugonna Wosu

    this is scary and disturbing.

THROW THIS DISGUSTING TWISTED SICKO IN PRISON TO ROT WHERE HE BELONGS!!

  • This is HORRIBLE

So for 2 years she held on to this information to try to use it against him to get more money and concessions from their divorce? That is disgusting and she should feel terrible about that.

She should have reported him Right Away in 2012, money be damned, so this sick pervert could be prosecuted as soon as possible.

Don’t let greed get in the way of doing what is right. This guy should have gone before a judge in 2012, not in late 2014 or 2015.

  • Ugonna Wosu

    @This is HORRIBLE: agreed.

  • joko

Maybe he also molested “Happy” the dog from the 7th Heaven show..

  • artemis

I knew there was something bad about him….I never liked watching him on tv.

  • groundcontrol

This should be interesting. Most states have marital privilege laws and what is said between spouses is protected.
    .
So it is unclear to me if these statements can be used to prosecute him. Doesn’t look like it.

  • CJ

    @groundcontrol:

Marital privilege just means one spouse can’t be forced to testify against the other. It doesn’t prohibit anyone from choosing to testify. It’s certainly not like the privacy rights with, say, a physician or psychologist where the prosecution would have to show compelling cause to get the professional to testify against a patient.

Just a sad situation all around though.

I guess telling the truth in therapy will not set you free, but get you arrested.
Is that even legal what she did. It might get thrown out of court, but the label is now on him.

  • Fynn

This make you very leery about going to therapy and saying everything truthful now, especially if you’re in CA where it can be secretly recorded, and then be usable against you in the court of law.

  • groundcontrol

    @groundcontrol:
    .
I read some more about this and it seems he was seeking help with a therapist and maybe the tape was played as part of the therapy session. Therapy sessions are protected in California IIRC – I believe there may be an exception to the confidentiality of therapy communications if there is a threatened future criminal act against a person. But not past acts. Otherwise no one would go to a therapist to seek help.
    .
There may also be an exception to the marital privilege if an act discussed can be included in the definition of domestic violence. Some states have a clause in the marital privilege statutes that permit the disclosure by one spouse against another spouse of some marital communications in a domestic violence case. You’d have to know the statute and case law in California regarding this which as yet I haven’t looked into. For instance if one of the alleged victims was a relative is that enough to include it as a Domestic Violence offense – does it matter if the relative does not live with you – does it matter if the relative is part of an ex-wife’s family and may no longer be legally related to you?
    .
Lots of questions and it isn’t all that clear to me if an investigation based on the tape or any privileged communication or on the testimonial disclosure by a spouse of a privileged communication isn’t a violation of his marital privilege and this illegal.
    .
Since the TMZ report (if it can be believed) mentions that there was a 2012 report by an alleged victim that can be the basis of their investigation. Very interesting case.
    .
There are different levels of paraphilia. Most people with paraphilia tendencies do not act on it because they know despite their urges that it is wrong and harmful. Therapy can work for what is considered, for lack of a better word, “lower” levels of paraphilia. But there are those for whom no amount of treatment seems to work. Those who physically hurt their victims as part of the abuse, which of course includes those who kill, are almost always hopeless cases and will continue to repeat their crimes until taken off the streets.
    .
This case is sad on many levels for all the parties.

    .
I agree it is a sad situation.
    .
Marital privilege is defined by statutes in each state so it all depends on the state law involved.
    .
Marital privilege certainly can prevent a spouse from testifying against another if it is testimony about privileged communication or prevent the spouse from even revealing privileged communication.
    .
For instance in my jurisdiction there are 2 parts to the spousal privilege statute. 1.) the prevention of revealing ANY marital communication is in the hands of the defendant so the privilege, in this case, is his privilege. He invokes it. and 2.) one spouse cannot be forced to testify against another spouse and that would involve testimony about matters other than marital communications such as what she SAW the other spouse do (like burying a body in the backyard or that he went out in the middle of the night). We have a recently enacted Domestic Violence exception that allows a spouse who has been subpoened to testify in a DV case to invoke their right not to testify against the other spouse one time only.
    .
So if the testifying spouse wants to testify they can but they cannot reveal marital communications in that testimony.
    .
I don’t agree with the exception because there is a real and valid rationale to the spousal privilege and i don’t think it should be tampered with. Forcing a spouse to testify against another spouse will often destroy the family and that can include harming, possibly irrevocably, the relationships between children and their parents.

He just happens to work in show business, but this type of behaviorism is in every aspect of society. Show business isn’t the cause of it. We give public people and celebrities too much credit sometimes. They’re plagued by all the the demons that every day people have, so it shouldn’t be shocking when it come out. They’re not better, they’re the same people who make up our society. Most people aren’t molesters or deviants in or out of show business.

  • Toti Martin

That’s why they gave him the role. They already knew he loved children. Crazy

  • Bucky

    What a pie hole.

  • Jane

What??? They gave this man a role on a tv series where he would be working every day with children! I hope the police are going to have a conversation with the actors who played the children on 7th Heaven.

  • LaCroix

not surprised by the sickness that this man has.. many men have it. I just hope he gets help & stops the poisoning of young girls.

  • Dani

I read on TMZ that his wife has begged him to get help for this.. and won’t maybe now that it’s public he will.

  • LoveTheShoes

Something kept bugging me about him and it finally hit me! He played in this Lifetime movie called “The Babysitter’s Seduction” and the description is: The mother of the family for which Michelle baby-sits dies unexpectedly. Michelle is asked to take over looking after the children and is gradually “seduced” by the father. When suspicions arise that the mother had been murdered (and had been having an affair), Michelle unknowingly becomes enveloped in a web of lies until she herself is suspected. Gradually she realizes all is not as it seems… ”

He played the father and he’s played kind of a scary guy on Devious Maids too. Wow, talk about blurring the lines.

It seems he was seeking help and that is why he was at the therapist’s. Therein lies the danger of violating patient confidentiality. No one will seek help if they cannot be assured of confidentiality.

  • What A Crock

Practically NONE of the articles reporting on this bother to mention the incident he is talking about happened 42 years ago in 1972 when he was in his mid-20′s. The little girls are in their mid 50s now. He’s admitting these things in therapy that have apparently bothered him for decades. Why else would he admit these things? And his wife leads him on to say these things and secretly tapes him to use this in divorce proceedings to get money. That, too, is pretty disgusting. And, not minimizing what happened, but what did he really admit to? That he dropped his towel for three girls and one of them touched his penis….. 42 years ago. And now he’ll lose any future possibility of employment, probably all his money in his divorce and to criminal defense lawyers, not be able to show his face in public anywhere in the US, probably be sued by the victims who suddenly remember the dropping of the towel, and he may even go to jail. Is that not enough, or does he need his penis chopped off too? If you all want to form such a mob and go after villains, I’m sure there must still be some ex-Nazi prison guards living here in the US in their 90′s who deserve a beating more than Mr. Collins.
