How to Get Away with Murder's Matt McGorry Talks 'OITNB' Season 3, His Career, & More!
Here’s what the 28-year-old Orange is the New Black and How to Get Away with Murder actor had to share:
On being a bodybuilder before taking up acting: “I was mostly a powerlifter before I began working as an actor My workouts now are not that aggressive. I lift weights once a week and usually do running a few times a week. If I have a shirtless scene coming up, I will exercise every day, not to mention reign in my nutrition. I have an enormous sweet tooth, but I’ll cut out all sweets a couple of weeks before I have to be shirtless on camera.”
On the future of his career: “I’m just open to the possibilities and excited about what the future has to offer. For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m trying to force myself one way or another in my career. Right now, I love what I’m doing and have faith that I’ll get to do more of it in the future. Of course, I could be singing a different tune a year from now, but I’m still soaking up all the amazing things that have happened to me!”
On what fans can expect in season three of Orange is the New Black: “Daya’s pregnancy continues to be complicated. Daya and Bennett clearly have different views in many ways and the further along the pregnancy gets, the more this becomes apparent. Bennett is a romantic at his core and fights to make Daya happy. But we know how complicated this was even in season two, and it doesn’t get any easier in season three.”
