Brad Pitt Says Filming 'Fury' Was Miserable & He Loved It!

Brad Pitt continues to rock his now-famous fedora while stepping out of his hotel on Wednesday morning (October 15) in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City.

The 50-year-old actor recently opened up about the difficulties of filming his latest movie Fury.

“We’re just tourists in the war experience,” Brad told the U.K.’s Telegraph. “But we were put to a point of exhaustion and no rations and no showers and we were sleeping in the rain, and it was miserable and we loved it.”

10+ pics inside of Brad Pitt leaving his hotel in the Big Apple…

Brad Pitt to Toast Veterans at ‘Fury’ Washington Premiere
    .
Retired four-star general Colin Powell and former Army Chief of Staff George Casey will join the actor for Wednesday’s gala in Washington, D.C.
    .
It will certainly pose a logistical headache. But for the first time in the studio’s history, Sony is throwing a world premiere in Washington.
    .
On Oct. 15, the Newseum in D.C. will host a gala for the World War II film Fury, drawing elusive celebrities including the film’s star Brad Pitt and even harder red-carpet gets like retired four-star general Colin Powell and former Army Chief of Staff George Casey.
    .
“Security is certainly more rigorous [than for a New York or L.A. premiere],” says Sony marketing president Dwight Caines — himself the son of a veteran — who got goose bumps stepping into a Sherman tank during production.
    .
In recent years, Sony has held special screenings of Black Hawk Down, Zero Dark Thirty and Captain Phillips in the nation’s capital. But for its first full-blown premiere on the Delaware, the studio is displaying the kind of pageantry reserved for an inauguration. The U.S. Color Guard will present the flag, and the national anthem will be performed. Sharing space on the red carpet with Pitt, Sony chief Amy Pascal and production president Michael De Luca will be three World War II vets — all in their 90s — who served as advisors on the film and who will be escorted by members of the U.S. Old Guard. Soldiers who protect the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will participate as well.
    .
At the center of the red carpet will be a so-called Wall of Honor, where talent like the film’s director David Ayer (himself a Navy veteran) and guests will have the opportunity to write a personalized note to active military overseas. (Pitt plans to write a note thanking them for their service.)
    .
“This is the kind of movie that warranted it,” adds Caines. “At the script stage, we always thought D.C. might be an opportunity [for a premiere] because the movie as it was conceived really pays homage to the servicemen and -women who protect us. When we saw the movie, that idea just solidified.”

  • No 6 month seperation

    @well:

Brad and his family was not separated for 6 months. Where are you getting that from? Brad was in LA with this family until August last year then he went to the UK and Angie and the kids went to OZ. In an interview he just gave to a media member yesterday in NYC he says they had to figure out the logistics for conjugal visits LOL. Enjoy!!!!

    http://www.tvweeklogieawards.com.au/news/articles/2014/10/brad-tells-%27my-conjugal-visits-with-ange%27/

Brad Pitt admits his separation from Angelina Jolie and their kids while filming his new drama Fury took its toll…

While Brad, 50, was in London shooting WW2 drama Fury, his new wife Angelina was on the opposite side of the world, shooting her WW2 drama Unbroken in Australia.

“We usually take turns, so one of us is with the kids and working behind the scenes,” he explains.

“But with this one, I’d have half the kids with me and she’d have some with her and we’d have to figure out ways to have conjugal visits, so it was extremely logistically challenging,” he laughs. smiley: laugh “Put it this way, I don’t want to do it again.”

Fury stars Pitt as a platoon leader behind enemy lines in Germany, during the last months of the war. It’s brutal to watch in parts, but that’s what the producer and star wanted to portray.

“I think the film really deals with the trauma – that dent in the psyche because of the horrors and what we are asking of either side,” he explains.

“It’s amazing to me we could be slaughtering each other one year, and the next year we’re having a coffee or a beer[...] it really speaks to the absurdity of the situation.”

Back from their wedding and honeymoon, spent filming Angelina’s second directorial project By the Sea in Malta, Pitt says their oldest son Maddox, 13, worked as a PA (production assistant) on their film.

“He knew more about tanks than I did so I had to go to him when we first started just to understand what we were talking about,” Pitt laughs.

Regardless of their hectic schedules, the actor says the one ritual the family honours is a meal together at the end of the day.

“We always try to have dinner together, that’s our time to talk about the day and what everyone is feeling,” he says.

“We talk about everything, so some dinners are talking about why people die and what you want to get out of life, and other dinners, the kids are all singing Jimmy Fallon’s ‘balls in your mouth’ song, so it could be anything (laughs)!”

Fury score keeps rising, 81% fresh now.

ugh- I mostly ignore the other well(s), but #19 is absolutely correct…stop being so negative. In addition, you need to use your reading comprehension/reading recall skills, plus a dose of critical thinking before making sweeping pronouncements that are clearly UNTRUE. Just by the photographed JP sightings during that time, nobody could claim six months apart. And, if we’ve learned nothing these past ten years, the JPs are very stealth when they can be, so it is very likely that there were even more visits. The media talks of Brad having Christmas in AU, but ignores that he was there for Thanksgiving and Pax’s bday- even though there were pictures- we fans should be, at a minimum, better than the sloppy, lying media. Rant over- the (manufactured?) doom & gloom really bugs me…

I can’t easily forgive Clooney for completely blowing what should have been a great movie. The story of the stolen and recovered (and lost) art during and in the ore-war years is beyond fascinating and poignant. How do you turn that into a humdrum movie with wise cracking characters?
    .
To be fair, these 2 movies are not comparable. One is about art and one is about TANKS. Of course, one had George Cooney and one has BRAD PITT! Need I say more?
    .
Some religious reviewers have taken Fury down from 81% to 78%, imposing their 2014 morality on a mid-20th century war for the future of the planet, with a poorly written “review’ which barely discusses the movie except to note their disapprovng belief that the film “needs to justify the brutality of American soldiers casually killing captured German soldiers or . . . admir[es] . . . fundamentalist Christians in a tank crew who quote the Bible before doing “God’s work” of slaughtering the enemy with relish and pride since the Lord is on their side.”
    .
Well, thank goodness they weren’t in command back then.

I wonder why the crowd love to watch either, beautiful/intelligent or multimillionaire people sad. At least they notice that not everyone who’s beautiful/intelligent or even multimillionaire can’t be happy all the time.
