I’d hardly call that being racist.

  • Rose

Or maybe that person just doesn’t like “Chinese” food. Just because someone mentions that certain food smells bad that doesn’t mean he/she is racist. Olivia Munn is a dumb@ss.

  • What?

But like how is that racist?

  • Is she dumb or..

That’s not racist. I wouldn’t want to be on a long flight with the smell of any food.

Hopefully she was kidding about that.

  • Gina

Not racist. You are just selfish for bringing smelly ass food on an airplane.

  • sunshine2121

    I hate her outfit.

  • Kay

Just because the food you were carrying happens to be part of your culture and someone doesnt like the way it smells, doesnt make them racist. Now, if the person had said, “Im sitting next to a Chinese person, its going to be a long fight.” Now thats racist.

  • Josephine

Oh no – I don’t like sushi, I’m such a racist. It is a common decency not to bring smelly foods, no matter which national cuisine they belong to, into the crowded, confined spaces, especially the plane. It’s not like you can open the window to get rid of the smell. That woman had every right to be annoyed.

  • Annoyed with ignorance

She’s a idiot and talentless! I think she pays this wedsite to promote her…

  • C

Just shows how full of herself she is.

  • Kat

The fact that these dumb ass identifies anything “Asian” as Chinese is the “racist” part. I would say its more ignorant. Its like saying all dark skinned people are from Africa.

  • kathy

calling someone racist, even in jest, is about as bad as it gets. it’s so awful, so damaging and because someone doesn’t like fragrant chinese food does not come close to calling them racist. shame on Oliviia Munn. that’s just stupid……i mean where would she come up with that? she should be busted online for that kind of cruelty.

  • reba

I don’t think this qualifies as ‘racist’. But I could see how someone would be offended if they made a comment saying a certain ethnic food smells bad. But food is not people, so I can’t say it is racist.

  • brian

I am more curious on how she got food on a flight? I had to toss an unopened bottle of water on a transfer flight (which I got from the same Airline).

  • essie

yup I agree with Kat. If you don’t know whether the food is Chinese, why even say what type it is. But unfortunately, majority of folks would rather generalize because why need to learn outside of their bubble.

  • essie

    make me dude

  • Hahahahga

@essie: lol it obviously smelled similar that’s why the woman called it Chinese! Asian cuisine Thai,Chinese, Japanese all use same spices, therefore it’s easy to confuse one for another. If you think confusing food’s origin is racist then you need help.

  • Fercat

    More like a Foodist.

  • whatever

Really, Olivia? This is not racist, slightly ignorant but definitely not racist.

  • vieanna

What a stupid thing to say. That’s not racist! Dumb girl. I hope she sees how ignorant she is due to the feedback from her tweet.

  • Arrow 12

Honestly how is that racist? Not everyone enjoys Chinese food. She really needs to get over herself.

  • jon m’shulla

I only hear, a perhaps rude statement, said just loud enough to be annoying to a fellow passenger. Not knowing the difference between Japanese food and Chinese food is merely a bit of gourmet ignorance not racism.

Rude woman is rude. Perhaps smelly food woman is rude too. Had to have been there.

  • starch

It’s not racist to dislike strong smelling ethnic food on a plane! She wasn’t commenting on Chinese People. What a moron!

  • Deanne

How is that a racist comment? Because the woman didn’t know it was actually Japanese food or because she said it was going to be a long flight? Some foods, while delicious, do not hold up well, scent wise, in the recirculated air of an airplane cabin. It can be downright nauseating.
The ethnicity of the food has nothing to do with it, it’s the leftover smell that can be off putting.
You’re no Martin Luther King Jr, Olivia.

  • erhrdtthree

this dingbat who is self proclaimed to be beautiful, she is average at best, has got to be the most annoying self loving person I have seen on the talk shows ever. She’s constantly showing her boobs off, acting like she owns Green Bay, (we are hoping A Rodg. wakes up) as she is nothing but a horrible distraction. Not only that but she has terribly embarrassed him publicly when he wanted to keep things private. Using him now to try to be more famous. Only more annoying. I agree what another poster says: she needs to get over herself. Trying to hard to be famous. Here is a comment I happened upon on another board about her being annoying, so its not just us that feels this way about her. Can she go away, like back to Asia or something? here’s the post:

Trust the institution of women. There is a reason why women dont trust, like, or want their children (female or male) to idolize women like Munn. Women in the entertainment industry, especially younger generation, blatantly shock with overly grandiose sexual press releases, jump from bed to bed, including producers / directors, of which Munn is notorious for. Then these women like Munn cry foul, sexism, gender hate when the public loses interest and learn they have no talent or value in the entertainment industry. The one up side to having to deal with hacks like Munn and Megan Fox , Lindsay Lohan is looks fade. The true entertainment icons with talent will live on through their work and accomplishments, all without “leaked” nudity, sexual hooks ups with directors, producers, actors etc. In the long run it is sad the life Munn, Fox, Lohan lead no doubt ending to a news blimp of some drug overdose.
