British Actor Steve Coogan to Replace Philip Seymour Hoffman in Showtime's 'Happyish'

British actor Steve Coogan is set to replace the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in the upcoming Showtime pilot Happyish.

Happyish was originally set to star Philip in the title role and was in development before his tragic death earlier this year.

Steve will play “44 year-old man whose world is thrown into disarray when he gets a new 25-year-old “wunderkind” boss, who says things like “digital,” “social” and “viral.” Is he in need of a “rebranding,” as his mentor insists, or does he just have a “low joy ceiling,” as his corporate headhunter suggests?,” Variety reports.

Happyish will begin filming in December in New York City.
