'Ouija' Wins Top Spot at Pre-Halloween Weekend Box Office

Ouija spooked its way to the top of the weekend box office with a $20 million gross!

According to THR, the horror flick starring Daren Kagasoff and Bianca A. Santos is considered a victory since it cost under $20 million to make.

Coming in second place was Keanu Reeves‘ action movie John Wick, which exceeded expectations with $14.2 million.

Fury, the war film starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, and Logan Lerman, took third, dipping 45 percent to $13 million, for a domestic total of $46.1 million.

Rounding out the top five were Ben Affleck‘s Gone Girl and the family-friendly flick Book of Life, which brought in $11.1 million and $9.8 million, respectively.

At the specialty box office, Birdman, starring Michael Keaton and Emma Stone, continued to soar as it expanded into a total of 50 theaters, earning $1.5 million for a location average of $28,961.
