Anne Hathaway Says She Doesn't Google Herself Anymore

Anne Hathaway sports a pop of color while walking out for her interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (November 6) in Los Angeles.

The following day, the 31-year-old actress’ Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey stopped by the show too.

Anne opened up about cyber bullies and articles she used to read like “Why Does Everyone Hate Anne Hathaway?”

“I had gotten out of the habit of googling myself because that’s just a bad idea to ever do that,” she said. “I listened at first. I couldn’t help it. You know and you try to shut it off and I couldn’t and then I realized why I couldn’t was I hadn’t learned to love myself yet. I hadn’t gotten there. And if you don’t love yourself when someone else says horrible thing to you part of you is always going to believe them.”

FYI: Anne is wearing an Alexander McQueen dress, Burberry shoes, and James Banks Designs jewelry. Matthew is wearing a Levi’s Made & Crafted leather biker jacket.

I used to get annoyed by her simply for the fact that I thought she was trying too hard to be funny. Now I feel guilty of ever feeling that way because she was obviously trying so hard to be liked and accepted in the midst of all these haters & bullies. I feel bad she ever had to read any of the mean stuff people have said. There was always a saying “sticks and stones..” but words really hurt! Glad I saw this Ellen episode, I have a new found respect for her.

I never understood why people hated her, she never did anything to anybody.

It had the appearance of a campaign. It oddly coincided with J.Laws ascendance.

Cannot wait for Interstellar. Tickets bought for 11:30 this morning. I am intrigued with the story for I am highly skeptical about how they can find another planet in the universe that suitable for mankind to immigrate as our tolerances for the elements are so limited. I want to see how they present the story and wrap it up. But I think I won’t be as disappointed by Interstellar as by Minority Report.

I guess you missed her ridiculous desperate Oscar campaign for Les Miz.

  • Cate

Yikes. People were being so brutal and she clearly had really thin skin if she was even googling herself. She seems to be much more comfortable with herself now

  • Kary

I just don’t understand why people hate her… all about Les Miz success and her oscar… people start to love the celebrities and then when they are all the time in the media, people just hate them, same thing is happening with JLaw
