Big Bank Hank Dead - Sugarhill Gang Rapper Dies at 57

Big Bank Hank, who was one of the founding members of the hip-hop group The Sugarhill Gang, has sadly passed away at age 57.

The rapper, whose real name was Henry Jackson, died on Tuesday (November 11) after a battle with cancer.

“So sad to hear about our brother’s passing,” Hank‘s bandmates Wonder Mike and Master Gee said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “The three of us created musical history together with the release of ‘Rapper’s Delight.’ We will always remember traveling the world together and rocking the house. Rest in peace, Big Bank.”

Hank‘s funeral will be held in Englewood, New Jersey, which is where the band members are all from. We send out our thoughts and condolences to all of his friends and family during this difficult time.
