Bill Cosby's Lawyer Issues Statement After His Refusal to Answer Questions About Alleged Sexual Assault

Amid many accusations of sexual assault over the years, Bill Cosby is once again in the spotlight over the allegations after refusing to address questions on the serious subject.

The 77-year-old comedian appeared on an NPR program that aired yesterday alongside his wife Camille and the host of the show, Scott Simon, asked about the allegations. Bill went silent when he was questioned about his alleged sexual abuse of women over the years.

In response, Bill‘s lawyer issued a statement on his official website.

“Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives,” the statement read.

why has Cosby’s appearances been cancelled over rumor, allegation, and old but never convicted claims when someone actually CONVICTED like Mike Tyson is celebrated! SMH

  • liz29

When you have 13 woman telling almost the same story went to dinner or meeting with him had a drink next thing they remember is waking up in a fog with or without clothing he has a problem. It’s not going away.

  • Legendary Trolly

Tyson was always looked at as crazy and unlearned. He made mistakes and owns up to them. Bill Cosby is looked at as perfect and he knows better than Tyson. Would you let your daughter be his next intern?

  • Legendary Trolly

    Go away rapist!!!

  • aren95

not sure if I would, but likewise I do NOT celebrate Mike Tyson. He still is cursing at people and being crazy but is on every talk show and getting tv shows. Society is crazy sometimes in who it selects to admire and who it selects to shun.

  • Legendary Trolly

You dont have to celebrate him but the point is this guy is a boxing legend who needed to be a little bit crazy in order to do what he did to his opponents. People kind of accept him as he is, that and plus he is always looking helpless and very honest about his problems. He’s a big baby that we need to walk on eggshells around. Bill Cosby is a little different.

Not saying I believe the allegations or not but silence isn’t a form of admission.

  • beara

Because it’s bad press and he doesn’t want to entertain the allegations, just like his lawyer said in the above statement…

  • Legendary Trolly

But the point is Tyson is easier to accept than Cosby! As a black man, I always disliked Cosby. He used to shame blacks for how we our naturally! We like our pants hanging, with flashy gold jewelry, and big o’l rims! This is who we are by nature, and he used to try to trick us into believing that we were tacky! When you see these rims shining on this spaceship Im driving AINT NO WAY you can trick me into thinking that I dont have class! I KNOW Im shining and gleaming all through the roads! Time to get the rapist on up outta here!! What you think?

  • aren95

why is Cosby different? Are you saying we should allow a guy who was known for aggression and wife abuse to be forgiven for rape because we knew he was a bad guy…. but a good guy should be excoriated? Is that what we want our kids to think? Be a gangster cuz then your bad actions are ok?

  • Legendary Trolly

Bro tyson is mentally incorrect and he made a mistake and paid for it. Cosby is a serial rapist who drugged millions of women and portrayed himself to be something he was not. When has Cosby admitted to any wrong doing? Or paid for anything? Him and Tyson are completely different.

  • aren95

I think the point I’m trying to make is that perhaps there should be no difference. Regardless of who they were perceived to be before their crimes became known. As for Tyson, I’ve seen him interviewed recently. I’m not sure his time in prison – paying for a rape charge – has cured him of his violence and anger issues adequately to promote him to admiration status. I was surprised to see that a charity for NYPD and FDNY is auctioning a pair of his signed boxing gloves. How ironic.

  • Legendary Trolly

Yea because he is a boxing legend and his gloves will sell allot. I seen that same interview, it wasnt bad. Everyone has a temper and he didnt even seem angry tbh. Cosby is an animal and he is not in the same boat as Tyson.
