'Dumb & Dumber 2' Beats Out the Competition at Weekend Box Office

Dumb and Dumber To has beaten out the competition to take the top spot at the weekend box office with $38.1 million, THR reports.

The sequel stars original cast members Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and opened over 20 years after the first movie hit theaters.

Both Big Hero 6 and Interstellar, both in their second weekends at the box office, performed well.

Big Hero 6 came in at number 2 with $36 million, and Interstellar fell to number 3 with $29.2 million.

Rounding out the top five were Beyond the Lights, which brought in $6.5 million, and Gone Girl, which brought in $4.6 million.
