Zayn Malik Slams Drug Use Rumors, Is 'Angry' About Matt Lauer's Drug Use Question

Zayn Malik is speaking out about missing One Direction‘s Today show performance yesterday and slamming Matt Lauer‘s questions, implying his absence was drug related.

“I’m really angry and upset by what was said on the Today show,” the 21-year-old entertainer told The Sun. “I was really ill at the weekend, that’s why I couldn’t fly to America.”

“I was gutted to have to miss album release day, but I’m going to be back as soon as I can. As soon as I’m feeling better I’m going to join the guys and carry on with the promotion for the album,” Zayn added.

On the show, Zayn‘s bandmates said that he was missing because he had a stomach illness, and the crowd booed Matt when he asked if it was drug related.
