Iggy Azalea Responds to Eminem's Rape Lyrics About Her

Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to voice her displeasure over Eminem‘s new song “Vegas,” which surfaced online earlier this week.

“I’m bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. zzzz,” the 24-year-old Aussie rapper tweeted.

She added, “It’s especially awkward because my 14 year old brother is the biggest eminem fan and now the artist he admired says he wants to rape me. nice! Women in music have the bigger balls anyhow we endure much more harassment and critic.”

In Eminem‘s song, he references Iggy by rapping, “Unless you’re Nicki [Minaj]/grab you by the wrist let’s ski/so what’s it gonna be/put that s–t away Iggy/You don’t wanna blow that rape whistle on me.”

I’ve never liked Eminem because of his homophobic behaviour in the past and how he always talked about his daughters mother but this is simply disgusting. The dude is 42 years old and has a near grown daughter and still goes around talking about raping women in his songs???? he is TRASH.

And his family pretends he has an extremely intelligent and beautiful daughter who is completely different from her parents and is getting uglier btw

I wonder how her brother must feel while listening to that song.

She’s not a 14 year old boy, and doesn’t know what that’s like. There’s a reason so many young men think that Eminem is relatable in terms of his aggression and artistic turns at hatred (which he’s made sure to polarize in terms of reality throughout his entire career) and most women don’t, and it has nothing to do with an inherent patriarchal desire to be sexist. It’s because there’s something he’s tapping into in terms of being male that most females don’t understand, and it’s attributed to the hate and apathy men receive from women, society, and other men.

Iggy, I’m sorry, but you will never understand. That’s why you think his little play on words that might be “distasteful” is sexist, or awkward for your brother to listen to.

And no. Women don’t get more “critic” in the rap biz. If Azaeila Banks, or whatever her name is, can go on a racist tirade unchallenged by the mainstream media then you, as a gender, don’t get the same end of the stick that male rappers do. Male rappers have just endured “critic” longer than female rappers and no longer give any fucks.
