Jared Leto Responds to Rumored 'Suicide Squad' Joker Role

Jared Leto continues to get inundated with questions surrounding his rumored part as the Joker in David Ayer‘s upcoming adaptation of the DC Entertainment property Suicide Squad.

While the 42-year-old actor is keeping mum, he isn’t exactly denying the rumors either.

“I’ve sworn to keep my mouth shut,” he told THR.

Speaking to MTV News earlier in the month, Jared said, “You know there’s a film called Fight Club, my friends, and you know what the first rule is, don’t you?”

(In case you don’t know, that rule is not talking about Fight Club.)

According to a recent JJ poll, 64 percent of our readers think he would be awesome in the role. Get your votes in now!

let him do it and let us hope that someone will finally overlook his good looks and see how pathetic overactor he really is. I mean first ben affleck then this guy, are you trying to totaly bury all movie credibility of this action series especially after bales and ledgers performance

I weep for the fact there are people who need the Fight Club rules explained to them

He looks like a teenager. Everyone is the fight club in a way.
Thank you for showing me your true nature.

I’m sure you were the first person screaming,,,
How could they hire Heath Ledger…he’ll ruin everything.
You were wrong about that…and you’ll be wrong about
this. Leto will be terrific, he always is.

How could you compare Jared with Fatfleck?
Fatfleck might be good director, but he was suck blah no charisma as actor.
While Jared always gives good performance, too bad he never had chance to carry big budget tentpole movie before

  • dalovelee

Since the day Heath Ledger masterfully played the role of The Joker..all actors have this imaginary benchmark to reach in playing a DC comic book character. What Heath did was perfection….do the role but Hollywood needs to stop trying with the PR mystery casting to convince audiences they found another Heath Ledger.

YES! Just act again. I don’t care which role it is, just act.

  • Dee Muky

not really, cause I always saw something dark in Heath, I knew he would be great for the role of psychopath. But when it comes to Jared I just don’t see it. Believe me I used to love the guy, first as an musician and than I started to watch his movies and I was disappointed. Over dramatic he left me a feeling he tries way to hard. I think he doesn’t have it in him

  • Canuck

Yes, they give Oscars to actors who are “over dramatic” and Terrence Malick, Darren Aranofsky, David Fincher, Oliver Stone etc love working with “over dramatic” actors. Fact is people don’t realize it’s him in a role because he completely disappears into it (like good actors are supposed to – think Meryl Streep). Get back to us after YOUR Oscar.

  • Dee Muky

I don’t need to have an Oscar to have a critical opinion over someones acting. And while we are at the subject the role that he had in DBC was perfect. He was lucky that he got the role witch disguised his “handicap” of drama queen by playing drag queen.

Jared Leto will ruin The Joker. Fck this guy.
