Bill Cosby Breaks Silence to Send Message to 'Black Media'

Bill Cosby has opened up about the media frenzy surrounding his sexual assault allegations.

The 77-year-old actor spoke with the New York Post over the phone, but chose not to specifically address the case itself.

“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind,” he said.

When asked how his marriage is holding up, Cosby said, “Love and the strength of womanhood. Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.”

He reportedly ended the conversation by saying, “They don’t want me talking to the media.”

Dangit this is just like that Solange elevator incident where they released a joint “statement” and completely avoided talking about it. What is the point of his vague messages that don’t even address the issue??

  • bambina b

The point of this message is to divert the attention from the issue.

Mark Geragos was on CNN Smerconish last night and he explained it quite well.

First you can be quite certain he has been told to say nothing by his legal advisors at this point. Because there really is not much he can say right now.

Because a lot of these cases are past the statute of limitations, the only recourse for many of these women is a civil lawsuit, for those women who did not already take a settlement in the 2006 lawsuit.

Geragos said that If Mr. Cosby were to call any of the accusers a liar etc etc he would open himself up to a defamation action which gives them another avenue of civil recourse.

The victims are better served by a civil action, he said, because Mr. Cosby can be compelled to testify in a deposition and he cannot plead the 5th if there are no criminal charges.

So Geragos was mystified as to why the LA PD is saying they will investigate the statute barred incidents, in part because it is never done and because that would not be the best strategy for the victims legally, in his opinion.

Black media, white media, it doesn’t matter you old goat. Your chickens are coming home to roost.

  • Anastatia Bagans

Right, bring up the race card because “black people stick together” right? Dispicable. You’re a sexual predator and the attempts to bring race into this to act like a victim is absolutely pathetic. Nice job taking advantage of mostly white women, sick racist creep.
