Stephen Collins Opens Up About Molestation Cases: 'I Did Something Terribly Wrong That I Deeply Regret'

Stephen Collins is finally opening up about his child molestation cases.

The 67-year-old 7th Heaven actor has released a lengthy statement in which he admits to inappropriate sexual contact with three female minors after allegedly confessing to the crimes to his wife Faye Grant in an audio released earlier this year.

“Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since,” Stephen told People. “I’ve decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist’s or my knowledge or consent.”

“On the recording, I described events that took place 20, 32, and 40 years ago,” Stephen continued. “The publication of the recording has resulted in assumptions and innuendos about what I did that go far beyond what actually occurred. As difficult as this is, I want people to know the truth.”

More of Stephen‘s confession will be revealed in an in-depth interview with Katie Couric, which will stream on Yahoo! and air Friday (December 19) on 20/20 on ABC!

If something “terribly wrong” happened long ago, then that’s not a wrong/sin/crime anymore? The victims (and in general) will never be able to forget and their lives, their personalities as well have been different without the “terribly wrong”.

How on earth do you call molestation “terribly wrong” ?? You are a sick pervert that needs deep psychological help & you should be registered as a sex offender. stfu & go crawl back into your hole. ew.

Yeah creep, those instances are only the ones we know about. Also how is he admitting, saying he regrets that he did something wrong, yet at the same time trying to say what it wasn’t. It doesn’t matter what else it may have been, you’ve admitted you’re the absolute worst there is. Why do sickos like this POS get to walk around free, but 18 year old kids who shoplift cigarillos get bullets to the head (Mike Brown)?

Seems to me that “terribly wrong” is a pretty apt description. What are you on about?

I totally agree with you. Smh…..
