Nikki Reed Makes Surprise Visit To Zeus & O'Hara With Humane Society

Nikki Reed gives some loving to dog Zeus and his owner O’Hara Owens during an in-home visit to her home in Moreauville, Louisiana on Thursday afternoon (December 18).

The 26-year-old actress made a special in home visit with The Humane Society of the United States after hearing about O’Hara and almost losing her dog due to a new ban on several breeds of dogs in the area.

O’Hara, who wears a halo brace and uses a wheelchair due to a severe neck pain, shared, about her dog, “I can sit here if I’m in pain, he comes and he notices it before I even make any noise.”

“Because of O’Hara’s brilliant advocacy through social media, my followers made me aware of what would happen to Zeus and others just like him in Moreauville, and I couldn’t stand idly by,” Nikki shared. “I have been an animal rescuer and pit bull owner nearly all of my life and the answer to solving problems with strays in a community is not to confiscate pets who are in homes. There are humane ways of managing the homeless animal crisis and the first step should be to make spaying and neutering accessible and affordable.”
