Gwyneth Paltrow Rejected by Yahoo for Lack of College Degree

Gwyneth Paltrow was reportedly rejected from a contributing editor position at Yahoo Food as she does not have a college degree, according to a new piece in the New York Times Magazine.

Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer allegedly “disapproved of the fact that Paltrow did not graduate college.

Mayer, who habitually asked deputies where they attended college, balked at hiring her as a contributing editor for Yahoo Food,” the piece read.

Well, it looks like Gwyneth is doing just fine without writing for Yahoo as her website goop is a major success!

Neither did Peter Jennings but he got to be head broadcaster for ABC. What a rotten lousy judgmental stupid excuse in this day and age. How many actors and celebrities don’t have degrees?

  • BlogBràt

She is reject all on her own….

  • Jay

This is horrible. What is this urge to hurt and humiliate people. What does this story achieve but that. She has never done anything to anyone but live her life.
Just jared is no better than perez hilton nowadays.

  • piste_five

HAH! glad she got rejected, that’ll show her to stop being an entitled b*tch that she is

  • document finesse

Another boring story about boring Paltrow. Barely a step up from the daily, nauseating articles about the Kardashians. Y-A-W-N.

  • whatsup

Maybe it is because no one takes her very seriously. She is pretty much a joke.

  • VanityInsecurity

I am no fan of Paltrow but..since when do you need a college degree to have a blog.. a cooking blog at that..

  • nicole

Good. If she was an average person they would need their degree and experience. I guess money can’t buy everything.

  • shoes4life

Well, I don’t care for Paltrow but I think Yahoo! need to double check some of their current writers credentials. Because some of the misspellings and grammatical errors on some of their articles are horrible.

  • dancer

Well, I don’t know if you could call it a major success since her site has been losing money from the get-go and is still not making a profit. It seems to be the main thing keeping her in the news though.

As for not landing a job due to a lack of a degree, happens every day to non-famous people with years of expertise and work experience.

  • happy666

Ive just noticed she has a website. She still loves Brad anyway…

  • LL

that was then, this is now. an editor can’t be self-educated– and celebrity doesn’t make you smarter.

  • plez

Jennings started from the bottom being a beat reporter and kept moving up until he got the anchorman job.. All Paltrow has proven is that she is rich not that she is either a good chef or a good writer.

  • 🎄GFW🎄

I agree. How they’re presenting the ‘story’ shows whose side their own IMO.

Gweneth went into acting. She can get her degree anytime she wants. It should not be a qualifier for what this is all about. She did get a BOOK deal after all, ohm, hello??

No this is just jealousy of someone who’s made it and they’re still stuck behind some on-line ‘desk’ taking revenge on a celebrity because they can if you ask me.

  • 🎄GFW🎄

So says the green-eyed jealous monster loser whose done nothing in their life and lives to chat (read: put people down) on gossip sites. LOL

  • piste_five

    you’re a fucking joke. goodbye.

  • 🎄GFW🎄

  • piste_five

so what? did you want a cookie or something? i’ll let you have this because you are obviously an imbecile thinking you know me or about my life! EL O EL

  • 🎄GFW🎄

    Have a nice day.

And thanks for proving my skills at reading people’s online self-portraits.

  • piste_five

LOL props to you smart guy! again, did you want a cookie for that?

  • Wordsmith

WOW! Anger issues much? You don’t like Paltrow. Okay. We get that. Why do you call her ‘…an entitled b*tch’? I guess you missed the part about her working for and supporting about two dozen different charitable organizations including:
    . American Cancer Society
. Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project
    . Healthy Child Healthy World
    . Keep A Child Alive
    . Prince’s Trust
    . Stand Up To Cancer
    . The Lunchbox Fund
    . UNICEF
Unlike many in the entertainment industry who contribute to a few charities solely for tax deduction purposes, Paltrow “puts her money where her mouth is”. She actively gives back to the world. What have YOU done for your world, lately, piste_five?
And, as an end note, attempting to diminish another person’s efforts does more to diminish you than them.

  • Wordsmith

Funny, I thought it was more of a jab at Yahoo! than at Paltrow. Guess it just goes to show how we perceive society based upon how we live in it. Hm?

  • Wordsmith

Just goes to show – a college degree is no guarantee of an education!

  • Matthew Woods

It is the mistake that is spread all the world and is very popular among young people that you don’t need any higher education to be successful. I want to say that only a few people could succeed without diplomas. Take a look at Gwyneth Paltrow, a woman and actress with big letters, but has been rejected because of the lack in education. Even if you don’t want to study, just take essay papers for sale and finish education to get a diploma. Your future career and life will say only “thank U” if you have it on your side.
