Muhammad Ali Checks Into Hospital for Pneumonia
“Ali, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in stable condition,” the former three-time heavyweight champion boxer’s spokesman Bob Gunnell said in a statement. “At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy.”
Muhammad, 72, was diagnosed with parkinson’s in 1984, three years after his retirement from boxing. He is not expected to be in the hospital long since the illness was caught early.
