'Beetlejuice' Sequel Could Happen, Tim Burton Says It's 'Closer Than Ever'!

There’s reportedly a Beetlejuice 2 in the works, and it could be here sooner than you think!

The 1988 film’s director Tim Burton talked about the film to IGN and said the sequel would only be a possibility if the original star Michael Keaton returned.

“There’s only one Beetlejuice, and that’s Michael. There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever,” Tim said. “I miss that character. There’s something that’s cathartic and amazing about it. I think it’s closer than ever.”

the script better be incredible though, I trust Burton and Keaton but I don’t trust the script writers so much as well as the actual castings around Keaton which better be with talented witty actors that can pull off a dark comedy. doing sequels from movies that came from the 80′s are not easy to pull off considering how they actually fit the 80′s era which made those movies nostalgic. modern updates are the biggest element of risk here besides the script itself. ill be curious to see if they bring back winona though, alec and geena can’t do older versions of ghosts since ghosts usually stay the way they were at the time of their death. very curious to see the outcome of this.
