President Obama Applauds Sony's Decision to Allow 'The Interview' to Play - Read the Statement

President Barack Obama and the White House have released a statement after Sony decided to let independent movie houses screen The Interview.

“The President applauds Sony’s decision to authorize screenings of the film. As the President made clear, we are a country that believes in free speech, and the right of artistic expression. The decision made by Sony and participating theaters allows people to make their own choices about the film, and we welcome that outcome,” the statement from White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz read (via The Wrap).

It was announced earlier in the day that select theaters will be playing The Interview after the movie was pulled due to terror threats.
