Little Jimmy Dickens Dead - Grand Ole Opry Star Dies at 94

Jimmy Dickens, also known as Little Jimmy Dickens, has passed away at the age of 94.

The country singer, a member of the Grand Ole Opry, died from cardiac arrest at a hospital on Friday (January 2) in Nashville, Tenn.

Before Jimmy died, he suffered a stroke on Christmas Day. He is survived by his wife, Mona Dickens and two daughters – Pamela Detert and Lisa King.

“The Grand Ole Opry did not have a better friend than Little Jimmy Dickens,” Pete Fisher, Opry vice president and general manager, said in a statement. “He loved the audience and his Opry family, and all of us loved him back. He was a one-of-kind entertainer and a great soul whose spirit will live on for years to come.”
