'Inglourious Basterds' Actor Rod Taylor Dead at 84

Longtime actor Rod Taylor sadly died on Wednesday (January 7) at the age of 84.

According to People, the Inglourious Basterds actor passed from natural causes surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, and their daughter Felicia, a former CNN News correspondent.

“My dad loved his work. Being an actor was his passion – calling it an honorable art and something he couldn’t live without,” Felicia told the mag in a statement.

Born in Australia, Rod appeared in more than 50 films throughout his career, including The Time Machine, 101 Dalmatians and perhaps most famously, Alfred Hitchcock‘s 1963 classic The Birds. He also acted in shows such as Walker, Texas Ranger and Murder, She Wrote.

Our thoughts go out to Rod‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

Wow! I grew up watching him. He was a terrific actor, usually always a supporting one, but great in whatever he did. R.I.P!
