Viola Davis References Her 'Classic Beauty' in People's Choice Awards Speech

Viola Davis looks absolutely stunning while posing backstage at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday (January 7) in Los Angeles.

The 49-year-old actress won the award for Favorite Actress In A New TV Series for her work on How to Get Away with Murder.

In her acceptance speech, Viola referenced the New York Times article that called her “less classically beautiful” than lighter-skinned actresses.

“Thank you Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Peter Nowalk for thinking of a leading lady who looks like my classic beauty,” she said.
