Zoe Saldana Says Breastfeeding Hurts, Will Skip Golden Globes

Zoe Saldana is opening up about life as a new mom and to explain what she will be doing instead of attending the 2015 Golden Globes later tonight.

“So ladies- moms… Breastfeeding moms. What do you have to say about pumping??!!! #babies #Breastfeeding #breasts hurting!!” the 36-year-old actress tweeted on Saturday evening (January 10).

While Zoe‘s movie The Book of Life is up for a Golden Globe for Best Animated Film, she is going to stay home and be with her family while watching.

“It’s looking like popcorn on the couch along milk bottles for the little guys while the #globes are on for us,” Zoe tweeted.

I can’t imagine breastfeeding two little ones!!! Pumping is good, same milk.

  • Courtney Puzzo

of course it’s painful but it’s so worth it for both mom and babies she sounds ignorant and ungrateful. it’s not like she was nominated for a Golden Globe so skipping it to be with her newborn sons is honorable

  • Excellent

shr didnt say breastfeeding – the activity – hurts, but her breasts are hurting, bc both are used all the time (while when u have 1 kid, one breast is always having a break and is regenerating) with twins breastfed simultaneously, your boobs have no rest….
    the title is misquoting, jared.

Okay I get she is feeling the joy of motherhood, but me thinks she’s revealing information because she wants media attention for her and her twins. No one is talking about her like they did with Ashton and Mila’s baby’s birth the industry was not waiting with baited breath about news of her twin’s birth..so she’s on the twitter drumming up attention..AND then I wonder why stars complain about the media and paps following them and their focus on their kids.

    Say it ain’t so?

Pump the milk and put it in a bottle. Why can’t they just buy the milk at the store like normal moms do. These actress moms are lazy.

Well, dear, noone forced u to breed. U live under a rock?

Breastfeeding is the ‘normal’ way to feed. Formula is the risk increasing alternative method of feeding.

Not entirely true….breastfeeding directly from the breast means saliva enters the ducts and antibodies needed at that moment are being triggered, ready for the next feed. Also, pumping mixes the milk together into one identical bit of fluid, whereas draining from the breast directly means baby gets the thinner, higher water content that quenched thirst in the beginning, and the highest fat milk at the end. The milk in the middle is a gradual change from ‘foremilk’ to ‘hindmilk’ with every gulp. Every mouthful is different from the last in composition. There is nothing ‘wrong’ with pumping, whether occasionally or exclusively, but it does technically come in as ‘second best’ for those reasons and because the action of feeding will be changed, since it is given either by bottle, cup, spoon, or syringe. The action of feeding from the breast is very important to natural facial/other anatomical development, such as with the eustachian tubes.
