Adam Levine Will Perform 'Begin Again' Song at Oscars 2015!

Adam Levine has been confirmed as a performer for the 2015 Academy Awards!

The 35-year-old singer will perform the song “Lost Stars” from his movie Begin Again, which is nominated for Best Original Song.

Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We’re thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year,” Oscars producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan said in a statement.

Adam is not eligible for the award himself as the song was written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois.

Gregg Alexander should be signing his own song. Bad choice.

Funny how they’re getting the guy, whose version of the song in the movie is regarded to be overproduced and artificial (funnily enough, not unlike Maroon 5 nowadays), to perform at the Oscars.

  • elisa

i love that song :) and he was the one who sang it in the movie so i think its fine

  • elisa

At least adam was the original performer in the movie its not like what happened to jorge drexler’s song who was performed by ANTONIO BANDERAS!!! i still remember that it was awful and disrespectful

  • Utope

I would love it if he performed the song with Keira Knightley. I loved the version she sang!

  • LA

Love the song, looking forward to him performing at the Oscars.

  • Vic

Have you seen him performing this song live?? You should try.

  • Vic

He’s performing because he sang it the movie. Do you think the writers of Let It Go should have sung istead of Idina Menzel? Of course not.

  • Jana500

Seriously? What kind of comparison is that? Gregg Alexander is a much better performer than Levine. The crowd would go wild if he actually did sing it.

Maybe you don’t know who Gregg Alexander is.

  • Jana500

I think we have an Adam Levine fan here. I really believe they must have asked Alexander and he demurred. Nothing would be finer than to hear Gregg sing it and then win the Oscar.

  • Vic

Of course I know who he is, he’s a great performer. But Levine singing at the oscars is probably the deal since the beginning, they wanted a pop star at the movie for a reason. Remember that the soundtrack was released under Levine’s label. Who gets to sing the songs at the oscars, every year, is whoever performs it at the movie. Levine also worked for this nomination, he performed the song at tv shows. I’m sure Gregg himself wanted him to perform, he wrote the song for Adam.

so what, who cares? now if gregg was to sing it, that’d be a hell of a news…. for once

  • curly215

actually, the version he sings at the end, which is one the album is the original arrangement, b/c in the film, keira knightley’s character came to his show and he promised he would do her arrangement. So you’re wrong
