Amal Clooney Takes On Turkish Genocide-Denier at European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg!

Amal Alamuddin Clooney looks lovely as she arrives at the European Court of Human Rights to advocate for the defense of Armenia on Wednesday (January 28) in Strasbourg, France.

The 36-year-old lawyer spoke about the denial of the Armenian genocide in the appeal of Perincek vs. Switzerland before the Grand Chamber of the European Court.

The case involves the conviction by Swiss courts of Dogu Perincek, a Turkish political party leader, who had traveled to Switzerland in 2005 with the explicit intent of denying the truth of the Armenian Genocide. In 2008, Perincek appealed the Swiss ruling to the European Court of Human Rights.

Again, it’s not her case. Again…she’s there to bring the cameras. Amazing how she goes from “Je suis Charlie” to fighting against free speech because it’s good for the career/bank account. First marbles now free speech. When the great “human rights attorney” wants to speak out and do something about the systematic slaughter of Christian women and children worldwide by radical Muslim extremists, call me. I’ll be waiting a while. That will NEVER happen.

    Ugly ugly ugly very ugly

  • happy666

You cant mix showbizz with true problems. Looks weird and worlds apart.

  • leila

I believe the press attention ought to be on the case and not the lawyer, this fame thirsty side of her is unbecomming

  • dalovelee

I find it disturbing and distasteful that she’s pandering for the cameras like she’s doing the promo for a movie..does her posing really bring attention to a case involving genocide is is it let’s see what George Clooney’s wife looks like today as a lawyer and then you move on.

  • Way2Old4Dis

Clad in Black, ugly Amal looks like a typical Islamic woman in a burqa.
    LOL
Amal Alamuddin made sure she prepared for it upon arriving from LA, by color-coordinating her claw nails in Black to match her attire. Oh, note the fake eyelashes on her ghoul horror flick eyes. BORIS KARLOFF anyone??

  • Wanderersmind

I guess this article published at this website because it is one of the stupidest cases ever.

  • Way2Old4Dis

MORE LIKE JEFF GOLDBLUM fusion with PAUL STANLEY OF KISS is what she looks like.
People are observing her as Clooney’s “wife” in SHEEER BEMUSEMENT that he could marry someone so …. unattractive with a lousy, conceited personality. UGLY & OBNOXIOUS!!

  • Emmet Verdadi

I am repeating my comments from yesterday on CDL

What exactly does Amal do as a lawyer? She comes off as the British barrister law firm version of a VIP hostess. She escorts the clients in front of the press. She is not a rainmaker for the firm. She is not first chair on any of her court cases. So what exactly does she do? What does everyone else think?

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

Don’t get excited. She’s supporting anti-free speech. The man in question is an idiot, to be sure. But free speech dictates that he be allowed to deny the Genocide if he wants to. It’s the public’s responsibility to educated ourselves about the world we live in so we can call BS on men like this.

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

Yep, and she’s not a celebrity no matter how many parties she shows up to with her actual real celebrity spouse.

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

    EXACTLY! Thank you!!

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

The case isn’t even about the genocide. Amal couldn’t give a rat’s a** about the slaughter of 2 million Armenian Christians by the Turks. Her position in this case is anti-free speech.

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

She takes vacations for months and months. I think someone who has followed her relationship trajectory said she literally was on vacation/travel with George for 7 months out of 2014. And she continues.

  • https://twitter.com/thedreadofpenny Penny Dreadful

And also, this is exactly why she took Clooney’s name. There’s absolutely no other reason why a liberal European woman with deep ties to her middle eastern family and to Arab/Muslim causes would take the name of her white American husband UNLESS there was power attached to it.

  • Katie Dot

What a total embarrassment she is for George Clooney! How could he have made such a pivotal mistake & linked his name with this scum opportunistic fameho. She really thinks she’s a celebrity.

CDAN lawyer recently revealed that Amal Alamuddin demanded that a hotel employee be sacked last year because she didn’t the “respect” she should have as a celebrity!! Seriously, this ugly refugee nouveau riche is the shallowest trash!
George Clooney stooped so low, dragging his name in camel dung.

ANOTHER FLUFF CASE TURNED INTO MEDIA CIRCUS.

The Turk Perincek already WON his right for freedom of speech. The case is about appealing against the judge’s decision for Freedom of Speech.

It’s well known the Armenian Holocaust occurred… a century ago. Greeks endured it too by the masses… So did many foreigneers living in Istanbul & Minor Asia (communities of Greeks, Italians, Russians, French & Jews were “exterminated” in the most barbaric ways.)
The Armenians suffered brutally en masse. Marched into the Syrian desert & slaughtered.
An unfortunate episode in our dark world history….
HOWEVER, if one eccentric zealot wants to claim otherwise, that’s his entitlement to freedom of speech.
That is what this case is. Another waste of time…

So now, Doughty Street Charlatans are sponging publicity off GeorgeClooney’s name again, to promote a fluff case.. and the narcissistic parasite Amal Alamuddin is busy establishing her delusions of grandeur.

Since when have the paparazzi covered the ICHR?

  • FormerLamark

Is this serious??? Is an important and serious case of genocide about the paparazzi jumping around the fame wh&re of an infamous american womanizer starlet??????????

Thank you for not calling her Amal Cl…..y! I would throw up.

  • Maureen Eleanor Smith

    lol

  • Maureen Eleanor Smith

    true

  • rubytones

Just read she was given a small part of the case to present today, despite her Junior status, and fluffed it. She was so busy telling the ECHR Grand Chamber that their prior supporting of Perencek’s right to freedom of speech was “simply wrong” (lots of florid language and grandstanding) that she overan the alloted time for her team’s presentation of the Armenian case so had to be cautioned from the bench to wind up and pipe down. Added to her mistake re the Marbles case and the difficulties she caused misrepresenting ‘intimidation’ from Egyptian authorities on the Fahmy case… she doesn’t seem to be much of a lawyer. A wise counsel PR’d well above her abilities or established credentials.

  • rubytones

    *NOT wise counsel

  • rubytones

I’m not sure how relevant, as it is a distant relationship, but she does have a family vested interest in this case: the wife of her Alamuddin grandfather was Ida Kuenzler the daughter of ‘Papi’ Jacob Kuenzler the Swiss missionary known as “the father of Armenian Orphans” for his work in the region in the early C20th up to the 1915 “genocide”. Ada Kuenzler, once married as an Alamuddin, wrote about and campaigned on behalf of Armenians post 1915. Not as I say relevant today but an interesting factoid.

  • rubytones

Sorry edit/ the wife of AC’s grandfather’s COUSIN.

  • Marcus77

This is the biggest lie, entire population of Armenians in Turkey in 1915 was 1,2 million . out of that 1 million left to Syria and France, and where are the bones 1.5 million bones? we find bones from 500 years ago, those pictures they put out are mostly people killed from famine in other places dubbed as Armenians died. entire Turkish population 1915 was 20 million, this is nothing more than trying to undermine Turkish people bcz they are Muslims

  • Marcus77

She looks like George in Drag

  • Just Comments

Her husband joined the C*F*R last year. So I would think this marriage and all of her publicity might have something to do with that. Maybe it was part of his initiation to launch her worldwide. In those circles are very powerful folks. Otherwise, all of this powerful media behind her does not make sense. It is a lot to get her filmed in court even for Clooney’s PR team. They could still love each other. Might as well since they are married.

  • Just Comments

oops I hit the button by mistake.

  • Just Comments

Why do people hate her so much?

  • lurkerette

She looks like her pre-surgery nose is growing back. Maybe it’s from all the lying.

  • starchild

Just thought you should know the reason Amal is clad in black. She is wearing the formal legal robe that is required to be worn by all lawyers who appear before the European Court, the courts in Great Britain, Canada, Australia etc.

  • Katie Dot

Bull crap! The only vested interest she has is publicity & money.
Her beloved cousin Tarek Minknas (Baria’s nepphew ) is half Turkish half Syrian. He & Baria are Muslims Who ally themselves with Syria.

Amal is Islamic. That is where her heart is. Islamic Lebanese have persecuted Christians for years.

It’s highly unlikely they’l rebuild the Swiss baths.

Really starchild? I didn’t know that. lol.

So the JJ site is the one where you’ve all been assigned to post your asinine commentary. Then pop over to a different site and post something seemingly thoughtful and then
respond back to congratulate yourself on how clever you are, expand on it or write a 400 word essay to further your agenda. He sure loves to read about how great he is even though he’s really not. Few posters many sock puppets. Clooney, how proud are you to have a group of people such as this working for you? I’d say probably pretty darn proud because you are so f###ed up in the head that you’ve got them here, there and everywhere on the internet. Also, you’ve seen to it that the especially senseless comments are saved for that one fan website of yours that’s been reserved for stars from the south. I’d say it’s all very amusing if I didn’t find it so remiss.

  • *eyeroll*

no kidding, dumbassss. Are you catering this comment to simpletons at some trailer park? Because anyone worldwide knows this.

  • Turgay Ceylan

I don’t beleive that armenian genocide happened. It is a fake story and I don’t care what people think. It is my right to say outloud that armenian genocide has never happened. It is called freedom of speech. When the topic is about “Turkishness law” in my country, you western guys say that it is against freedom of speech. By the way it is a law about defending turkishness. But when it comes to “so called Armenian genoce”, you guys say “you can’t say that no genocide has happened”.

    You guys are funny :)

  • starchild

    Are you always this rude?

  • starchild

It no wonder there are so few posters here. It is now obvious that no one can post anything without being verbally attacked. I would ask why you find it necessary but I’m not interested in your answer. I do not work for George Clooney and never have. Nor do I have any fan websites. I won’t make the mistake of posting here again. And neither, I suspect, will those who actually do have credible information on George and Amal post here.

  • Guest

I don’t hate them, but I find them very strange and a bit embarrassing in the way a teenager might feel when a parent tries to twerk in public.

George and Amal have TRIED to engineer a massive publicity campaign. The motivation? Him: to repair his playboy, ol’ dirty man image. Her: to become an influential public figure.

The problem is that they weren’t voted in. No one appointed them Mr and Mrs Celebrity Human Rights Activist Here to Save the World by Virtue of Their Supreme Benevolence. (Puke. Puke.) They simply tried to claw themselves into the throne via self-appointment and a whole bunch of very, very odd media splashes. (The Venice Wedding. The Arriving via Boat and waving to the Plebeians like royalty. The huge fashion spreads in whatever major magazines. The constant references to their relationship and how proud of each other they are.)

There’s also the issue of basic likeability. Clooney comes across as a kindly but dull ageing heartthrob. He’s mentioning his wife at every chance, as if trying to undo the years of two-year contracts with barely legals. Nice guy, but not very bright. Alamuddin-Clooney, on the other hand, appears to be loving the media attention. There are rumours (and some photographer appeared to have confirmed this via a Twitter post) that she and her PR team have been calling the paps. She’s a barrister and this kind of stunt is really at odds with the conservative nature of her profession. And people don’t like fame-hungry people, full stop. Also, she’s been selling herself or has been sold by the media as a kind of career phenomenon. There’s no doubt she’s a smart lady, but human rights law isn’t a prestigious area of law per se; it is high profile, however. Law isn’t even that prestigious these days. So what’s with the “OMG she’s a lawyer” thing? Are we still in the 1950s? So, likeability, authenticity, and authority is a real problem with this couple.

On the whole I find them very dated and out of touch. Self-appointed royal couple – EPIC FAIL. In sum, they’ve tried too hard to manipulate people and they’re too eager for the spotlight, and people have sensed it, and the result has been the opposite of their desired outcome.

  • Versace

And she left hollywood for this……..what is so important about arguing a motion ….lawyers do it every gosh darned day with no cameras in site…this is just so absurd…who is George trying to impress??

  • Versace

Spot on– and what is more troubling is that the media keeps over hyping Amal by misrepresenting her career and she never bothers to correct the record….she’s delusional

  • MoreCakePlease

I didn’t mean to say that you are the one with the fan website. I was referring to Clooney himself and one of the many so-called fan websites that he funds. Credible information about George and Amal? That would be nice to read but I doubt there’s much of that anywhere on the web because what’s out there is primarily written by their respective public relations team and certain other people.

  • MoreCakePlease

I believe what you’ve written is pretty much true except that the 2 year contract woman were all well with-in the age of majority. The barely legal ones were never made public.

I read the following post on another website discussing some of the Hollywood actorvists. A look into the true nature of this person:

    bmg says:

    January 2, 2012 at 8:50pm

I worked with a guy who told me a story about how his daughter was living in Hollywood and was working as a server at a catered event
where George Clooney was a guest. George began flirting with this guy’s 19 year-old daughter and within a short period of time, he TOLD her she should leave with him for a fling. She was not interested and told him she had a boyfriend. George got upset and told her that she must be crazy not to want to sleep with him and stomped off after insulting her low-life status compared to
his high-level status. So, at least someone has told this spoiled man-child no in his lifetime. He’s a pathetic narcissist trying to find as many people who will constantly reassure him that he is great. The guy ended the story by telling me that his daughter said George was really boring and only talked about himself. She had to offer courtesy laughs because he was not funny either.
