Shakira given birth to her second child with her boyfriend Gerard Pique!

The 37-year-old singer welcomed a baby boy on Thursday (January 29) in Barcelona, Spain.

“We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona,” a statement on the singer’s website read. “The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior.’ The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health.

Gerard‘s father also spoke out about the birth.

“He’s called Sasha which is Alexander in Russian,” Amador Bernabéu told reporters (via Hello). “They’ve told me he looks like Gerard. Milan looked like Shakira when he was born but this one looks more like his father.”
