Who Will Replace Jon Stewart? Here's Our Suggestions!

Now that we know Jon Stewart is officially going to leave his position as the host of The Daily Show at the end of the year, people are buzzing about who will be named his replacement.

While there is no guarantee that the show will even continue without Jon, we sure hope that one of these names we picked out will get the chance to sit behind the desk!

Jon took over the hosting slot from Craig Kilborn in 1999 and he has been with the show ever since for the last sixteen years.

Some of the people that we are suggesting for the position are former or current correspondents on The Daily Show, some are well known for their hilarious roles on Saturday Night Live, and some are just great comedians that we think will be great on the show.

Samantha Bee should host the show.

I vote for Mindy Kaling… she’s witty, smart, and charming. Unsure how she is as an interviewer, but love her humor

Amy Schumer? Mindy Kaling? Aziz Ansari??? Where you smoking the Mary Jane again?

This has got to be a fucking joke. You need someone who has a modicum of inclination towards political comedy. Michael Che, Samantha Bee and Jessica Williams are the only reasonable picks from this line up. And they have a ton of experience (well, Samantha has a shit ton, Jessica a lot less, and very little from Michael as he left very shortly). The rest are a random collection of comedians! You need more than a comic to pull this off. He or she needs to be in touch with the politics, should be known to do political humor and should be pissed off by the status quo. Can you imagine Amy or Aziz ranting about John Boehner, Bush, Obama, etc.? No. Period.

By the way, I personally want it to be Jason Jones, but Samantha Bee is fine too. And between the two, they might pick Samantha as they want to tap into the as-yet untapped female late-night audience. They got Larry for the minority side of the audience, and then we can have a woman for the women folk! Yay! Whatevs’.

I think NBC offered Stewart Brian Williams spot.

    Amy Schumer is goddam funny!

John Oliver would be cray cray to leave HBO.

Sam BEE the one. Or they both could, SNL style.

  • Nathan Empsall

    Terrible news. :(

First choice to host the Daily Show? Jon Stewart. Obvious next choice? Amy Poehler. Sign my online petition to help make it happen?

  • Walker Drake

Jason Jones, he earned it. First Colbert now Stewart.. sad year for comedy. As to ur list, its ridiculous, almost none of those ppl would even consider going with the daily show.

  • bdomcgregor

my thoughts exactly. You can’t bring an outsider in. Has to be Samantha or her husband or Jessica Williams.

  • bdomcgregor

sam b her husband or jessica williams.

  • bdomcgregor

Why? Much wider audience at CC.

  • bdomcgregor

    Jason or Samantha or Jessica.

  • Constance

HBO seems perfect for him, but he could do the Daily Show, I don’t believe in putting limits on people.

Wow. So the “Fake News” newscaster will be leaving the TV screen. In some ways I’ll miss Brian Williams.
