Bob Simon Dead - '60 Minutes' Correspondent Killed in Car Crash at 73
Bob Simon, a 60 Minutes correspondent, has died at the age of 73 after being killed in a car accident in New York City.
The journalist was in a livery cab on the West Side Highway at West 30th street in New York City when the car was rear-ended and slammed into a median, the NY Daily News reports.
He was rushed to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital but could not be saved. The driver of the cab and the driver of the other car are reportedly okay.
