'SNL 40' Celebration Episode Draws Massive Audience For NBC

The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Celebration telecast did wonders for NBC on Sunday (February 15)!

The show’s 40th anniversary episode was the network’s top-rated primetime telecast, besides from post-Super Bowl programs, since the Will & Grace series finale, which aired over eight years ago.

The three-and-a-half hour Sunday special, which garnered 23.1 million viewers, easily beat out the network’s huge showing in 2013 for The Sound of Music Live, starring Carrie Underwood, Stephen Moyer, and Audra McDonald.
