Matthew McConaughey & Gugu Mbatha-Raw Go Back in Time fro New Movie Shoot!

Matthew McConaughey flashes a smile and a wave while sitting by the river during a scene for his upcoming Civil War drama The Free State of Jones on Tuesday (February 24) in New Orleans, La.

The 45-year-old actor filmed scenes with co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw and they were seen wearing several costumes throughout the shoot.

In the movie, Matthew plays “Newton Knight, a soldier who flees the battlefields after being disillusioned by the horrors that touched his own family. On the run, he rallies the support of fellow deserters to lead an uprising against their former comrades, in the process creating a free safe haven,” according to Variety.
