Nikki Reed Treats Herself To Lunch at Lemonade After Testifying For Animal Rights

Nikki Reed heads back to her car after lunching out with a friend for lunch at Lemonade in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon (March 4).

The 25-year-old actress just returned from a quick trip to Washington, D.C., where she testified on behalf of AB147 for animal rights.

“Heading to The State Capitol to testify for #AB147 – animals used for science should not be discarded- the cruelty that they endure being used for research purposes is harsh enough- let’s not further the abuse by claiming that rescues are not equipped to help them live out the rest of their lives peacefully. @beaglefreedom,” Nikki wrote on WhoSay just ahead of the hearing.

She added with the pic below, “Standing in front of The Capitol before I testify with Emma, a survivor from a San Francisco testing facility. The holes in her ears are a testament to the horror she endured. #AB147 @beaglefreedom.”

FYI: Nikki is wearing a Boda Skins jacket.

  • ?!?!?

    SHE IS WEARING LEATHER

  • Ashley

How do you know it’s real leather?

  • ?!?!

How do you know it isn’t? Do you have any sort of proof that says otherwise?

My local news did a report about these poor Beagles. They are bred continuously by a company on their premises and kept in cages until needed specifically for product testing. It’s like hundreds of them. The dogs never have been outdoors or have any interactions with human, as far as being loved or petted. They chose the Beagle because their skin and hair is similar to ours and they are tolerant. It was so sad I cried and I’m no animal activists never owned one but the story was awful! When they are done with the dogs they are disposed in the most horrible way. Their little lives mean nothing more to this company than using them. There’s this organization that rescues them now and prepare them for adoption. The poor dogs never seen or touched grass and they were excited to run free, play and be loved. Very good Beagles. This company should be banned from such practices period! They never named the company.

Beautiful woman with a beautiful soul <333

Lol, weakest argument ever. You don’t know, that is all. But trying to find negative things about a positive article which is about a person saving animals from torture, you decide to focus on what she’s wearing. That says a lot about you.

  • @mia

I’d say wearing leather a day after testifying for animal rights says a lot more. If there isn’t proof saying otherwise, then I think it’s a fair assumption that the leather jacket is made from leather. Everyone loves animals. That doesn’t make us all animal rights activists. Someone who “devotes their life” to saving animals would never wear leather, and would refrain from wearing fake leather, which PROMOTES the idea that wearing leather is cool and trendy. Cows aren’t as cute as puppies. I get that. Maybe she should call herself a “pet store activist” instead.

C’mon, everybody knows she only became an activist after getting ‘linked’ to Ian. Yes, she wrote an article or two at her website, but she has never been this passionate over the cause before Ian. Same happened when she was with Paul, and became a singer because he was. She’s trying to make everyone thinks she’s perfect for Ian, which isn’t not true. She’s an opportunist and fame seeker, and since being an activist and animals advocate seems to be the new trend now, of course she would jump onboard this ship.

Everyone with a brain knows that she has been doing charity for years. And also been an advocate for animal rights for a long time. Do your reseach. But i believe facts don’t really matter to you. So there’s that. And if she’s wearing leather (which I don’t think she is) she is still going out of her way every day to fight for animal rights. But even if she wasn’t wearing that jacket you would critizise something else. You could learn a lot from her. She is a kind, compassionate & sweet person who always spreads positivity. Then there’s you bashing on Nikki on every single article about her. That is sad & does say a lot about YOU and nothing about her.

  • kris

What a great cause & what a wonderful woman. Love what she does & how passionate about it she is. She also seems like such a lovely person. Wish her all the best & wish the world had more people like her.

  • kris

She testified for animal rights, that’s right!! That is such an awesome thing to do. But of course the haters will focus on whether or not she’s wearing leather. Nobody knows. You do not know so why dont you stop jumping to conclusions without the facts..We know for sure she is fighting for animal rights and that is respectable IMO.

  • @Gb

Facts do matter and I see that she has done charity work in the past. And, of course, that is commendable. But while we’re on the topic of facts, do you know what actually goes into the making of leather goods? The horrible process behind making a simple leather jacket? It is beyond cruel, and you would know that if YOU did YOUR research. If you wear leather you have a lot of balls to call yourself an animal activist. Leather isn’t something TRUE animal activists take lightly. And please stop trying to turn this into something personal. I don’t have a vendetta against Nikki, and I have no interest in her personal life. I take issue with the hypocrisy of this situation, the idea that someone can testify for the rights of lab beagles and wear a skinned cow to lunch the very next day. If you have proof that the leather is fake I would love to apologize for calling her out on this. I hope it is fake.

  • theonlyandoneme

I do care for facts and I’ve learned a lot from her. Like to not be a fake person. Everyone does charity in one way or another. But posting it at your social media yo pass the image of you being a nice people is pitiful. That jacket ia made of leather and so many outfits she wore you should make your research

  • sollaress

I don’t see anyone talking about @beaglefreedom (Beagle Freedom Project) which did all the work.

You can use her name tag to check out the shoes she wore to her Noble Award ceremony and then find out whose skin they are made of. Hint: snake.
