Emma Watson Discusses Nude Photo Leak Threats

Emma Watson celebrated International Women’s Day by giving an inspirational Q&A session in which she talked about being threatened with a nude photo leak last year after speaking up for women’s rights.

“After I gave my speech [at the UN] there was a website threatening to release naked pictures of me, with a countdown,” the 24-year-old actress explained. “I knew it was a hoax, I knew the pictures didn’t exist, but I think a lot of people that were close to me knew that gender equality was an issue but didn’t think it was that urgent – that it was a thing of the past. [They said} ‘We live in Great Britain! This is a thing of the past! We’re fine aren’t we? We’re good! We’ve got far enough.’”

“They saw that the minute I stepped up and talked about women’s rights, I was immediately threatened. Within less than 12 hours I was receiving threats. And I think that really shocked,” she said. “One of my brothers in particular was very upset. So I think it was just a wake-up call. This is a real thing, it’s happening now. Women are receiving threats. I was just raging. It made me so angry. I was like, ‘This is why I have to be doing this.’ So if they’re trying to put me off, they did the opposite.”

what you mean Emma Watson’s new “marketing plan”? look no photos but lots of publicity and now the denial interviews-etc etc–this is how the desperate child stars that are girls of course make the jump to actual adult celebrity-it’s been done for years now-the guys are just kind of screwed but if they get slutty enough female child stars can play the sex card and cross over-you think this one is any different? why because she was in Larry the Wizard movies-or she whacked her hair like a 12 year old boy? she is desperate to have an acting career as an adult and so far that is looking pretty iffy–so time to “leak” the porn

Women on a daily basis get these kind of threats from boyfriends, lovers, etc because society has enabled the idea of shaming women. I see what her purpose is and I pity anybody who gives her flack for it. I always knew jennjfer lawrence and her camp are a bunch of fake phonies.
