Kathy Griffin is Leaving E's 'Fashion Police' After Kelly Osbourne Exits Following Zendaya Controversy

Kathy Griffin has decided to leave Fashion Police due to creative differences.

The 54-year-old comedian took to Twitter to explain why her style doesn’t fit with the show.

“After seven episodes of Fashion Police, I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it’s time to move on,” Kathy wrote.

This of course comes after her co-host Kelly Osbourne decided to exit amid the controversy surrounding Giuliana Rancic‘s comments about Zendaya during the 2015 Oscars show.

They should cancel the Fashion Police and be done with it already!

  • Bre.

They should’ve canceled when Joan died tbh.

WTF is going on? What exactly is E!’s mandate is Katy Griffin thinks it’s crossing the line! Like she said, she loves an offensive joke, she doesn’t shy away from offending people. So what are they asking of the panel if even she thinks it’s wrong?!

  • Pammiechan Escalona

I agreed they should cancel it when Joan passed on. I knew that Kathy wouldn’t last long. Stupid!!

  • j k

She was never into the fashion world, it felt so out of place.

  • CLX

Probably heard they were hiring one of those Kardashian losers and realized that the show was done.

  • CopperCutie

Excellent choice! That show needs to go. It’s not the same after Joan anyway.

  • etc.

It was obvious she wasn’t a good fit. It’s inevitable the show won’t last much longer.

Kathy was a worthy successor to Joan’s throne and if she’s gone then they might as well end the show. I blame that c-unit Kelly for all of this. I can’t believe she got so touchy over nothing … because that’s what it was … nothing!!!

  • Ash

I think Giuliana should quit next. Not because of her comment over Zendaya’s hair but because she is not a fashionista and she looks anorexic.

This is one of those shows I truly loved. Under Joan’s thumb it has wit, class and down and dirty funny that were in the lines of respect. It has been lost. Once she passed and the show had the free ran to be run how they wished. It was clear they did not understand her idea of the show and how to be funny as only Joan can. Kathy should have been given the wheel and allowed to do what Joan did. By them not doing this the show was a mess and become a show about disrespect and the wromg side of funny

Please Joan the last two years thought if she threw in a few curse words she was being edgy. Plus she started to get mean and attacking a few people time and time again.

  • lives4music

She had said they wanted to do a segment on people resembling whores and she refused to do that. I don’t think she liked the direction they want to go in.

  • LovedTripleCrown

I actually liked her as host, but could see when she jumped on someone for talking about their size that they were wanting her to be mean about the people, not just commenting on the clothes.

Good for her to leave. I wish Rancic would leave. She’s always been the weakest link on the show.

  • LovedTripleCrown

She already seemed uncomfortable when they seemed to want her to make fun of people with different sizes and shapes and she refused.
Kathy was a great choice to follow Joan, but not if they want to get stupidly mean about people, and not discuss the fashion as much as just bashing people.
I feel sorry for Brad Goreski, because he was great, and now he’s left with that horrible Rancic person, who SHOULD be the one leaving.

  • LovedTripleCrown

Well said. Rancic in there, as neither a comedian nor knowing fashion was so wrong, and they seemed to focus more on her, and not let Kathy deliver the funny and let the fashion people talk about the clothes.

  • LovedTripleCrown

No, it was something, but you’d have to walk in the shoes of someone like Zendaya to get that. It’s far from what most people understand and experience, and actually, while I think that Rancic’s comment was insensitive and ignorant, if her apology on air was sincere, it meant something. That’s a big “if”, though.

I blame them keeping Rancic at all. She was on at the beginning because they wanted a female co-host who knew how to keep it going, was already a familiar E! host, and who had been on red carpets. But she doesn’t know fashion and is no comedian, and didn’t even have an opinion that’s original. She only says what she thinks will make her popular, and tries to use teen slang when she’s a 40-year-old woman, which is even more foolish.

Regardless of her comment about Zendaya, they should have let her go when Joan left and used the opportunity to have someone who can host (a tough skill which Rancic could do) and who could contribute on the fashion side, like Kimora Lee Simmons or Tim Gunn.

Everyone has something. For example, you’re a queen.
