Kathy Griffin Emailed Celebs to Support Her 'Fashion Police' Exit

Kathy Griffin revealed last night that she has decided to quit Fashion Police after just seven episodes and now an email she sent to celeb friends after her announcement has been released.

The comedian reached out to her celeb pals asking them to publicly support her decision if they felt comfortable doing so.

“Here’s why I need you…” Kathy wrote in the email obtained by BuzzFeed. “I went live with the following statement on my social media platforms this evening. I’m reaching out to you because I think you will understand why I have made this decision and I am asking for your support via Twitter, etc. IF you are comfortable. I admire you & your work and hope that you can stand by me. Once again, IF you are comfortable. Oh, and I am nervous and scared about this…in case you’re wondering ”

A bunch of celebs like Kelly Osbourne, Chelsea Handler, and more have already tweeted out their support.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Kathy Griffin’s email to her celeb friends?

If you have to ask people to support you.. what is the point?

What’s her point? Kathy Griffin has been making fun of celebrities and mocking them in her stand up routine for years. Her whole “D Listed” was based on making fun of celebrities, and she didn’t seem to care what she made fun of. She talked about their physical appearance, their behavior, their personalities, etc. for years. She insulted them without any second thoughts.
I think she was probably pushed out of Fashion Police, and now she is trying to make this be about something it isn’t. Personally, I think the whole idea of Fashion Police died with Joan Rivers. E! has a real chance to do something better. No one can replace Joan.
They need legitimate fashion people with fun personalities to cover fashion and make it be about more than celebrities on the red carpet. I’m glad Kathy is leaving. I think they need to shut it down and then re-introduce it with a new attitude. I don’t have a problem criticizing bad fashion choices, and I don’t have a problem with humor. I just think they could be a lot smarter about it.

    So thirsty, so desperate.

What dickhead would release this to the press. It’s so mean.

shows the bully is really insecure deep down…she didnt and can’t really stand alone- she had to beg others to go our in defense…but she had no problem throwing GR under the bus.
    Horrible people the whole lot.

That’s strange that she had to email her friends to support her on social media. No wonder we’ve heard from Kat Dennings, Margaret Cho, Chelsea Handler, Whoopi Goldberg, etc.

Kathy’s reason makes no sense either, she’s been making fun of celebrities and their bodies for years. Sounds like she didn’t have a say in Kelly’s replacement and she decided to bail.

Team Giuliana all the way !! It’s too bad Kelly and Kathy have caused Melissa Rivers further pain following her mother’s passing.
