Elton John Slams Dolce & Gabbana For 'Synthetic Children' Comments, Other Celebs Also React
Elton John took to Instagram last night (March 14) to slam Dolce&Gabbana for comments about “synthetic children.”
“You are born to a mother and a father. Or at least that’s how it should be,” the designer duo told Panorama in the interview published last week. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented wombs, semen chosen from a catalog.”
“I’m gay, I cannot have a child,” Dolce told the publication. “Life has its natural course, there are things that must not be changed. And one of these is the family.”
“We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one,” Gabbana added.
“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic,’” Elton wrote on his Instagram account of his children with husband David Furnish. “And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”
