'Insurgent' Tops Weekend Box Office, Won't Match Divergent's Opening Weekend Numbers

Mega-hit Insurgent took the number one spot at the box office this weekend!

The Shailene Woodley-starrer brought in $54 million domestically, but probably won’t match Divergent‘s $54.6 million launch during the same weekend last year, Variety reports.

Coming in at number two was Cinderella, which boasted around $34.5 million in gross.

Sean Penn‘s The Gunman had a disappointing opening weekend, taking in only $5 million. This is good enough for a third place finish this weekend.

Rounding out the top five are Liam Neeson‘s Run All Night with $5.1 million and Colin Firth‘s Kingsman: The Secret Service with $4.6 million.
