Olivia Wilde on Her Post-Baby Body: 'I'm a Mother & I Look Like One'

Olivia Wilde shows off her figure on the cover of Shape magazine’s April 2015 issue.

Here’s what the 31-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On her post-baby body: “I am not in perfect shape. In fact, I’m softer than I’ve ever been, including that unfortunate semester in high school when I simultaneously discovered Krispy Kreme and pot. The photos of me in this magazine have been generously constructed to show my best angles and I assure you, good lighting has been warmly embraced. The truth is, I’m a mother, and I look like one.”

On giving birth to her son Otis: “Two weeks earlier than expected, came the birth—an extreme adventure that is definitely not for the faint of heart. That day was wild, but weirdly I can’t wait to do it again. I confronted my own intense strength and was pretty damn impressed by it.”

On the weeks after giving birth: “That gorgeous bump you proudly paraded around town for some 40 weeks has only retreated slightly after the birth. Now it’s a lot like a partially deflated pool toy. After giving birth, I joined the ranks of millions of new mothers when I moaned, “Why do I still look pregnant? Is there another one stuck in there?” But luckily, that part doesn’t last long. Basically, for the first few months, your body has that covered, and you can just let it do the work while you focus on keeping the kid alive and occasionally washing your hair. Breast-feeding helps, in the most intense way. You feel your uterus contracting while the baby nurses. Your belly starts to go down. Your thighs become slightly less thunderous.”

she’s right her body has changed since having Otis nearly a year ago but that happens with having children

Such a cool woman. I read the full article already, her wrining style is funny, edgy yet very wise. it shows that she is from a family full of writers and journalists.

I completely agree, I was just going to say that she has that rare talent for being both articulate and funny at the same time.

    She forgot to mention photoshop…

Actually i dont find her cool because i find her fake, since she was well known for House she has said some things that have made her look like a desperate celeb who cant handle not being the center of attention and this includes when she denied her ex husband when they were still married and the way she used her divorced to look for attention it seems she is also using her motherhood for the same, and about her body i found her hot until i realized she has never looked the way she looked on screen and photoshops

It’s difficult for me to like her. She seems fake, and her new ‘partner’ is no a go replacement for her ex-husband.
