Emmy Rossum Reads Up On Charles Manson During Flight to Los Angeles

Emmy Rossum keeps her shades on as she arrives at LAX airport on Thursday afternoon (April 16) in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old actress was returning from a quick trip to New York City where she attended the Lilly Pulitzer launch event.

On the plane ride home, it looks like Emmy was reading “Manson: The Life and Times of Charles Manson” by Jeff Guinn. The book gives an inside look at the famed serial killer, who headed a cult of followers.

I thought he is in prison for life and read he has been turned down for parole .

  • Adam_T

He is in prison. At San Quente (sp?), in California, I believe.

He’s a whiny loser (in addition to being pure evil). Hard to believe he and his prosecutor, the great Vince Bugliosi are the same age.

Maybe Emmy is looking at playing one of the Manson ‘girls.’ Sadie would be the most likely.

Charles Manson, that britshit commie enemy agent, had very few female subordinate “followers”. Most were male. They changed the laws to keep that little britshit twit faggo alive in custody. Who writes this site, commie britshit chinese? They’ve forgotten their own anthropology?

  • Martha Bartha

That’s a great book. I read it 3 times already.

  • Martha Bartha

He was originally sentenced to death.

  • Martha Bartha

    No he’s at Corcoran.

  • Adam_T

The death sentence was commuted because of the, I guess, State Supreme Court ruling that temporarily banned the death penalty.

  • Adam_T

I’ve never read it, I used to read Helter Skelter roughly once every two years.

  • Adam_T

Thanks for the correction. He used to be at San Quentin up until, I gather, around 1990.

I can’t say that I follow him closely. My only remaining concern other than the few odds and ends that were never cleared up, like, what was the deal with the glasses at the murder scene, is that I believe the Manson Girls should finally be paroled.

They’ve served more than 45 years now and they are clearly rehabilitated and are no threat to anybody. I know the Sharon Tate family doesn’t want them to get out of jail (not sure about the La Biancas) and I sympathize with them, but at this point I don’t see what purpose keeping them in jail serves.

  • Martha Bartha

I believe so. He was lucky. He and Bugliosi are tryin to outlive each other. Bugliosi has cancer.

  • Martha Bartha

I’ve read Helter Skelter 12 times. It’s my favorite book.

  • Martha Bartha

Their crimes were so horrible they have to be made an example of. People don’t realize that Manson and one of the family went back to the murder scene and left the glasses. I’m surprised it never came out in court.

  • Adam_T

I didn’t know that about Bugliosi. That’s sad to hear. As long as it isn’t prostate cancer though, he has a good chance of surviving it, if it’s been caught early enough.

  • Adam_T

I’ve never heard that about the glasses and I’ve visited websites other websites and asked about it, and nobody has said that before.

I’m not saying what you are saying isn’t true, but I do find it a little hard to believe the Family would have risked going back to the scene of the crime to plant the glasses. Planting drugs or other paraphenalia to make it look like a ‘drug burn’ would have been more logical.

I disagree on the crime being so horrible they need to be made examples of. There have been murders and murderers equally as bad (especially serial killers which the Manson Girls clearly aren’t, it’s probably even debatable whether Manson himself should be characterized as a serial killer or as a ‘spree killler’ though he clearly had no regard for human life and obviously should never be released from jail). I realize most, if not all of them, have received the death penalty, but I don’t see that any more ‘example’ is being made of them after serving for more than 40 years.

On another matter, it seems the movie “Manson Girls” is going to finally be made.

It finally received funding years after the director announced it was going to be made.

The cast listed there is clearly not going to be the cast of the ‘new’ version of the film.

  • Martha Bartha

    I’m not sure.

  • Martha Bartha

They killed a pregnant woman. Manson was a nut. He thought law enforcement were stupid. He didn’t care about going back to Prison, it was his home. He didn’t wanna be released in 67.

  • Adam_T

True, but he also didn’t want to go back to jail in 1969/1970. He liked the dune buggies and the sand dunes.

There likely have been people that have murdered babies/young children that have gotten out of jail.

They’re finally gonna make it huh? I know they’ve been talkin about it for years. OK, thanks for the info.
