Univision's 'Sabado Gigante' Will End Run After 53 Years

Sad news for fans of the long-running Univision series Sabado Gigante – it will be ending this fall following a 53-year run!

The Spanish-language variety show has aired over 3,000 episodes on Saturday nights throughout the last five decades, without interruption.

The show will air its last episode on September 19 and host Mario Kreutzberger is still planning on sticking around with entertainment specials on the network.

“From the start we made sure to ask, ‘What does the audience want?!’ And we have worked tirelessly for precisely that audience, with the utmost dedication, humility and deep respect,” Mario said in a statement. “To all those who joined us by tuning in to Sábado Gigante with their constructive criticism, work and loyalty, I would like to say from the bottom of my heart and in capital letters, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.”

    I use to watch it but this days don’t care one way or the other. IMO the show is not what it use to be I’m surprise it did not happen sooner
