Twitter's New Direct Message Policy Might Annoy Celebrities

Twitter is introducing a new feature that might not go over well with celebrities… people will be able to send direct messages to any user whether they are following each other or not.

Until now, you have only been able to send another Twitter user a direct message if they are following you back. This new feature will undoubtedly flood the inboxes of celebrities with millions of followers.

“If you do receive a Direct Message from someone you don’t want to privately converse with, you can still take steps to stop them,” Twitter said on its blog this morning.

There are some reports saying that to start receiving direct messages from anyone, a user has to opt-in to the feature, so hopefully that is true for people who don’t want to receive unwarranted messages!

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Twitter’s new direct messaging policy?

Twitter wasn’t made for celebrities. It was made for everyone. Bow down to the rules or GTFO

Idiot celebrities will just have to ignore all the direct messages from everyone.

I don’t even understand the point of direct messages on Twitter anyways.

Uh of course you can filter out messages from strangers, what even is the point of this article.
