Jake Gyllenhaal Did 2,000 Sit-Ups a Day for 'Southpaw' Training
Jake Gyllenhaal takes his dog Leo for a walk around the neighborhood on Monday (April 20) in Los Angeles.
The 34-year-old actor’s movie Southpaw is going to be released later this year and now his trainer Terry Claybon is revealing how he got in shape for the role as a professional boxer.
Jake started off with three hours of workouts a day, which were pushed to six hours a day after two months. Something he would do each day was 2,000 sit-ups!
“Gradually we built up, day-by-day, to 2,000. It takes time to do that,” Terry told Yahoo.
