Cobie Smulders Opens Up on Ovarian Cancer Battle at Age 25

Cobie Smulders has just revealed that she battled ovarian cancer when she was 25.

“I had tumors on both ovaries, and the cancer had spread into my lymph nodes and surrounding tissues,” the 33-year-old actress shared to Women’s Health.

She added, “I don’t think I’ll ever feel like I’m cancer-free,” she admitted. “Now that I’m five years out, I’m trying to think of it as a positive thing and what can I learn from it. And if I can create more awareness, I’ll do it.”

    I’m nurse ( I worked some months in oncology service) and it’s the first time I heard to talk about an ovarian cancer at a as young age .Ovarian cancer is a cancer for older women( more of 60s) even the “genetic” cancers are later ( around 40-50s)

    Wow, so young to develop that type of cancer. Would have never known. Cobie has always seemed like the picture of health. I’m glad she’s healthy now.

    Two of my friends suffered from ovarian cancer. And they were both under 30. I know it’s more common after menopause, but it happens to younger women, too.
