It sounds like Dr. McDreamy is checking out of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for good.

Patrick Dempsey is leaving Grey’s Anatomy after 11 seasons with the show, according to a new feature in this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, which some fans got a hold of before tonight’s (April 23) episode could air. See below.

A source confirms to JustJared.com that Patrick recently filmed his death scene on location in a Los Angeles park.

According to Page Six, Patrick was forced out by creator Shonda Rhimes.

“Patrick has been acting like a diva and has clashed with Shonda. She suspended him for a while, and the word on set is that he isn’t coming back full time,” a source told the paper, adding, “Given all the past problems with Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington, there is little tolerance on the show for troublesome talent.”
