Anna Kendrick's Shower Thoughts Are Laugh Out Loud Funny!

Anna Kendrick's Shower Thoughts Are Laugh Out Loud Funny!

Anna Kendrick strikes a pose on the cover of Glamour‘s June 2015 issue, out on newsstands on May 12!

Here’s what the 29-year-old actress had to share:

On turning 30 this year: “I felt different at 29 because 29, to me, is 30. There are times when I still feel like an actual toddler in a grown-up—well, semi grown-up—body. But other times I can’t wait to actually be 30, just so I can say things like, ‘I’m 30. I don’t have time for that. F–k off!’”

On being afraid to take a break from work: “As an actress you’re perpetually about to be unemployed. That fear—when you have two parents who worked 9-to-5 jobs and went through periods of being unemployed—is real. Those were not welcome times in my childhood. Working 14 hours a day isn’t sustainable, but I prefer it [to doing fewer films]. I might as well be doing the thing that I wanted to do my whole life.”

On the gender bias in Hollywood: “All the films nominated [for a Best Picture Oscar] this year had male leads. Like, every single one. So I’m glad that [equality’s] feeling like a bigger issue now… There’s [a film I’m considering] now where I have to wait for all the male roles to be cast before I can even become a part of the conversation. Part of me gets that. [But] part of me is like, ‘What the f–k? You have to cast for females based on who’s cast as males?’ To me, the only explanation is that there are so many f–king talented girls, and from a business standpoint it’s easier to find women to match the men. I totally stand by the belief that there are 10 unbelievably talented women for every role.”

Love that she talked about the casting males roles before females, i mean look what happened to Mae Whitman, which is totally fucked. Because…what?? Mae Whitman who (was originally apart of the independance day movie) might possibly play Liam Hemsworth love interest is what?? Not pretty enuff for him??? Thats some bullshit right there.

And she would be standing on a box through-out their scenes.

I think most good scripts written with female leads tend not to be of the typical ‘Blockbuster’ variety. And right now, the studios are more interested with their bottomline.

The YA films are starting to shoot themselves in the foot by over-hyping and not delivering.

Liam Hemsworth is a terrible actor. He keeps getting roles, while talented females are shunned.

So they should have hired another actor, there is plenty of great male actors with similar star appeal that are not that tall.

  • FerCat

True, but not with the Hemsworth brand recognition. Most of the top 20 something actors are all fairly tall. Sure they could go with Decker, Hutcherson, Felton, Lerman, Radcliff, Wood. But I doubt those names ever came up during pre-casting talks, specially if they were casting hardcore military guys. As Kendrick said, guys get cast first. Once Liam was in, that was it for Mae.

  • FerCat

Brand recognition rather than talent, really.

  • Dee

So what are you trynna say? That shes too short for Liam?? Have you seen the Thor movies with Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth?? 0_o and your acting as if Liam is this huge bankable brand (lets not forget the flop that was that movie he did with amber heard i cant even remember the name tbqh) Jennifer Lawrence is the one who carries the hunger games movie. He’s just a side piece.

  • FerCat

Portman was standing on a box in a lot of their scenes, Mae will need an even bigger box. Portman through her long film career, has name recognition. That counts in her favor. Flops/bankability or not, there is enough recognition for the Hemsworth brand. Mae is more of a small screen actress with extensive voice work but with minimal recognition outside the US. Other than being politically correct, there was not much of a plus side for the studio to go with her. Specially for a popcorn flick like this.

Look at Amber. Mid-level actress yet she get’s cast a lot. The studio’s calculus works for her.
