Lovely couple. Nic looked awesome yesterday, but Keith rocked that suit. So sexy!

  • mac lennon

So that joke of a UN “ambassador” who claims to be SO concerned for woman’s rights throughout the world was front and center to boogie down to domestic batterer chris brown. So much for principles and determination in the face shameless PR.

  • SweetCiCi

Always pathetically trying to drag the Urbans through the dirt. She was there to support her husband, fool. No control over the other performers. Go back to your sad little thread no one reads.

  • mac lennon

Kidman certainly can “control” when she makes an appearance and would not when a batterer of woman is on dolt. And thanks for no doubt “reading” the little thread “no on reads”…apparently you DO.

  • SweetCiCi

Oh sure, Nic would refuse to support her husband because Brown was on the same show. Get real. Yes, I’ve read your thread a couple of times. It isn’t worth reading anymore than that. It’s toxic and pathetic. Buh bye!

  • mac lennon

Thanks for your support! Ha. The orb and kidman are “public personalities” by choice. And they surely deserve the obvious criticism for their shabby product of dreary and laughable films and superficial and juvenile music…just a much as the “behind kissing’ from JJ…and the likes of you.

  • collhi

Actually, Nicole Kidman has been in some extremely interesting films…she’s an actress that definitely pushes her own boundaries.

  • mac lennon

I totally disagree. She is a rather rudimentary actor who relies on basic and cliched acting techniques. Her films have become so rudimentary that they wallow in sheer redundancy. In her one dimensional cage…she is reduced to constantly portraying the same character “type.” It is what I usually describe as the “unhappy domestic mourning her children…or her mundane life per say…who secretly desires to release her wild or tawdry side.” She really can’t expand beyond anything else. She does endless dreary and weepy. She cannot do comedy…broad or light…she cannot do adventure. She is stuck in dull and boring and pretentious indie fodder that is very unappealing and is box office poison. And as has been recently demonstrated by the critical battering several of her upcoming films, Grace of Monaco, Queen of the Desert and Strangerland are taking in early reviews…it seems that even film critics are coming around to that opinion. So of course she tries to portray her “unpopular” films…and the unappealing roles she plays in them…as examples of her “bravery” and simply trying to “push her boundries.” I submit she can simply do NO better.

maclen, go back to your hole. Nobody listens to your venom. Get a life.

  • Dee

Seriously, what is wrong with Mac lennon ??? Scientologist ? Jealousy ? Wanna be girl friend or just plain crazy ? Keith and Nicole are two kind people that wouldn’t hurt anyone intentionally ? How can anyone have such deep hate for someone they don’t know ? Mac, you have a real serious mental problem.

  • mac lennon

Well clearly YOU “listen” to my comments…so much so you feel the need to respond to them. So you’re wrong…”nobodies” do listen to my comments. Too bad your either too addle minded or simply not capable of engaging in a conversation of thoughtful and laid out opinions. Well, nothing beyond, “Keithy looks soooo CUTE!!!!”

  • chelsea

It’s you’re- you+are= you’re. As in… You’re an Idiot. Again, slither back into your hole and talk to yourself and the 2 fools with different names that post once a week on your hate-filled, one-sided message board.

  • mac lennon

Ah yes…the last resort for the simple and basic minded in the game of ideas and thoughtful opinion…petty grammar correction. Get back to me when you have an original or interesting thought other than your usual whining about my obviously TOO complicated comments on a couple of untalented…and equally as simple… celebrity hacks.

  • 1urbanfan27

Keith looked great as always… :) Don’t care for that dress…And Nic was there to get on TV…Simple really…

  • mac lennon

Ha…your hysterical and rambling comment here obviously CONFIRMS your mental problem. Take a valium and chill out. Before you have another anxiety attack…count to 10 BEFORE you make another hysterical comment…I might actually take you seriously and you may not look so desperate.

Back to the posting. I speak much over at the cynic forum of how Fox is yet again going to drag out the “dead horse” that is Idol for the last shreds of meager viewers they can beat out of that decaying carcass. So, is orb going to do the exact same thing with his “decaying carcass” of a pathetic and juvenile album? Already at 6…count them 6 singles from a lackluster and low selling cd…there of course speculation on country forums by country fans whether there will be a 7th from his “rotting corpse”. The speculation is that since he is in such PRE production…not even begun…and obviously in the “what am i going to do next?” state of paralysis…he may not have anything new out for at least the next year. It’s clearly obvious to me that the orb is dreading the massive flop his album will be whenever it does come out. Again, as I’ve constantly maintain…all he has to to is look at fellow Idol hasbeen judges JLo and Carey’s recent album flops to KNOW exactly how dismal his album will sell when he eventually gets enough “collaborators”…ie: talent- (I wager his team of co-writers THIS time around will run into the 40 to 50 count)…to get it made. Orb performed “Even the Stars Fall 4 U” on Idol (how cute, orb “tweened” down the title)…and so there is speculation that will be his next single. I always advise orb…bring in some actual creative and talented writers… and move his pathetic behind! Ha.

  • mac lennon

Just a quick correction…just in case it draws out any more annoying and petty nitpicker fansies screeching about it…make that 5 US singles…as one noted on the wiki page for the album is an Oz single.

  • collhi

Actually, her “breakout” role was in “To Die For”…which was a satirical comedy for which she won a Golden Globe. So, there goes your no-comedy theory right out the window.

She was also nominated for another Golden Globe for portraying a sleazy Southern slattern in “Paperboy”. So, there goes your “unhappy domestic mourning her children” type theory as well.

And she has done about every genre there is: thriller, horror, musical, drama, action, period piece, morality tale, fantasy, pulp noir, and experimental indies. She’s actually pretty well known for her dramatic range.

Do I like in her in everything? No. But I have seen enough excellent performances from her in a wide range of roles and daring/brave projects to have a solid respect for her talent.

Quite honestly, it seems as if you haven’t seen enough of her performances to make any sort of real declarative statement of her acting abilities. Instead you’re quite possibly just parroting random criticisms you’ve seen on the internet.

And, btw, from what I’ve gathered of the few reviews of the unreleased “Queen of the Desert” and “Strangerland” was that Nicole Kidman was more than competent in those roles.

  • mac lennon

To Die For came out in 1995. You had to go back 20 years for that example. That is not a very good sign. As for “The Paperboy”…it has a 43% Rotten rating at RT.com…78 critics negative to 60 positive and it grossed $693k domestic and $1.3 mill WW. Thats hardly an example of exemplary work in either regard from kidman. As for the GG nom for the film…and awards show noms in general…that is simply a laughable joke. Just because she has made a “genre” of film during her career surely does not necessarily reason that they were successful. She has very few examples of even the remotest of critical or financial success…certainly applicable during the past 10 years. That is surely the reason her upcoming “theatrically” intended film “Grace” will be dumped onto cable tv. And I course see much more “TV” work for kidman.

  • collhi

I see…so you know better than Academy & Golden Globes panels? And what difference would it make if it were a comedy 20 years ago…or 2?

You just can’t admit it when you’re mistaken.

And not all movies are made to be blockbusters, some are made for pure artistic, experimental reasons…and flop. But if money is your criteria, then this year’s “Paddington” would certainly fit the bill at almost 300 million.
I don’t think she cares all that much about hits anymore…she’s had plenty, she’s wealthy, and she just wants to do interesting projects.

  • mac lennon

I have been well aware that kidman’s fans have been reduced to “comforting” themselves rather recently…certainly as her films come under more and more critical lambasting as well as the tendency for her films to fail at the box office…with the rationale that she is at least “competent” in those films. Yes…your logic is impeccable…she continues to make films that fail at the box office…get critically panned…and is now PASSING on the huge paycheck films…because she “just wants to.”

  • collhi

Please take a course in basic logic, because your chop logic is rather annoying. You made sweepingly strong assertions about her acting abilities, genre capabilities, and type-casting…all of which have been refuted.

Has her star faded? Without a doubt. But she, nonetheless, still gets tapped to work on projects with some of the best directors out there. Which obviously speaks to her reputation and capabilities.

But by focusing so intently on the Grace of Monaco flop, which does sound like a doozy, you’re grasping for the final, damning validation of your own opinion regarding Kidman…which plenty of viewers and critics do not share.

  • mac lennon

Sweepingly strong assertions are par for the course in debate. You claim kidman is still relevant…I say she is not. Hollywood is not “rocket science.” Even the best Directors in that biz have made bad films…and have made many a bad choice in casting of those films. And there are many more examples other than Monaco of kidman’s mounting irrelevancy. Take for example the case of The Human Stain. Gloriously billed and promoted as starring an “Academy Award Winning” lead actor, lead actress and Director…and that film flopped massively. Now your example of Paddington as being “proof” of kidman’s continued success or appeal is dubious at best. Paddington is NOT a “kidman film.” She is completely superfluous to the success of that film. The “star and appeal” of that film was a CGI bear. It would have grossed 300mil whether kidman was in it or not. And as I already mentioned, you have obviously gulped down the kidman “kool aid”…where she is now claiming she makes ONLY the films she wants. Sure, she is now “turning down” starring roles in multi $100 million films…she passes on the $15 million paychecks to star in indie flicks for reportedly scale pay…because SHE choses to. Laughable. As for kidman being so “content” with her massive “wealth”…that is WHY she makes commercials for ginger ale and aussie vitamin pills. I submit it is just a pathetic attempt to stay relevant.

  • collhi

Sweepingly strong assertions are not par for course in debate…they’re a sure sign of faulty logic that can be easily debunked and subsequently make the purveyor look like a buffoon.

I could go on to refute each point of more of your chop logic ramblings in your last post, but quite frankly, what would be the point? You would just rattle on with further nonsense.

The funny thing about this exhausting exchange is that I used to not be much of a Nicole Kidman fan. In fact, I thought she was overrated. But the more I saw of her body of work, particularly the more obscure and out-there films which were never seriously made to be hits, I witnessed some very strong performances on her part. Enough so, to where I turned the corner in my opinion of her.

So, unlike you, I’m forming an opinion on an actual broad base of experience and discernment.

No one’s asking to you to sip the Kidman kool-ade, but yourself a favor and put the Kidman vinegar down…it’s obviously warped your judgement.

  • Sally

Nicole was there because she loves and supports her husband. Sorry ’27′ you truly don’t have an inside to their relationship even though you keep telling people you do. As Keith as said, ‘Nic is my best friend, I’d rather be with her than anyone.’ so yes she was there for her husband.

  • 1MzLiz

What movies are making any money besides action films these days?

    I have an inside to Keith…Have for 7 years now…He says a lot of things… :)
