“We know the market for college graduates now is more competitive than ever. Some of you already have a job lined up, you have a path where today’s job is gonna become tomorrow’s career,” Matthew told the graduates (via E! News).

He continued, saying: “But for most of you, the future is probably still a little fuzzy. And you don’t have that job that directly reflects the degree that you just got. Many of you don’t even have a job at all.. You don’t have the answers and it’s pretty damn scary. And I say that’s OK because that is how it is. This is the reality that many of you are facing, this is the world that we live in.”

I started watching the speech online (couldn’t get tickets last night for Mad Max) and ended up watching it all the way. He’s a New Agey hipster but what he said was surprisingly relevant to a graduate today, flailing around trying to find where they’re headed. He spoke for almost an hour with no notes or teleprompter.

He charged the school $150,000 to speak so it damn better be good

He didn’t charge them. It was U of H that contacted some agency to get a celeb speaker. The agency negotiated the contract. McConaughey probably didn’t know anything about the financial side. He agreed that they make a contribution to his foundation for after-school programs for kids in underserved schools.

It is great when such sctivities and meeting are held for students, when different celebrities are invited to support students in their hard-working studying process and motivate them to do it better. I know students who test CustomEssaysWritingService as the one-time assistant with their college papers and like “drug addicts” couldn’t stop of using their services, they are so lazy that cannot do their homework on their own. But meetings with their stars will encourage them to study better.
